This is one of my all time favorite books. I thought it would be great to have it in audio format. However, the experience is ruined by Michael Prichard's weird, flat, boring narration. Another reviewer likened it to the ancient nature films we used to watch in school back in the 70's and I agree. This book is so funny, sweet and touching and it is a crying shame to hear someone reading it as if it were a grocery list.

Very entertaining listen. I think I will get a map of Australia in front of me for reference and listen to it again some time. Bryson mentions several times how little American know or hear about Australia. Listening to Bryson's book will remedy this for you; he explains the history, discovery (by Europeans) and settlement of this continent. He even explains the current government. Add this to an overview of several major cities and wrap it all in his incomparable hilarious dialogue and there you have it: this book.

This was my first brush with Dexter. I now know this is a series and even a television program. It was an interesting and fast paced read. I liked the narrator.

This has what I like in a book; interesting, funny and long. Although it is set in a mythical setting it's easy enough to draw connections to our real world. Locke is a con man who almost meets his match. I liked the narrator.

An okay story, nothing to get worked up over. Basically the story of a shipwrecked, adrift-in-the-ocean teen and how he survives at sea while dealing with a tiger. Everything that happens before that is tedious. At best it is interesting to hear how he struggled to survive and ways he found to do so. Good narrator.

Well, if you like sodomy this book's for you. So predictable that you always know what's going to happen. Oh, he's a meanie, she doesn't like him at all; what, they're forced to marry? Oh no! I wonder if they will find love? Why, yes, they do! But I wonder if something will pull them asunder? Right again! A maniacal homosexual rapist to be exact. Oh, but will Jaimie ever be able to recover and love again? You guessed it! I liked the narrator.

Empty, silly, worse than the Dragon Tattoo. I like the narrator. If you watch CSI four times a week you will probably like this.

Booooorrrrrriiinnnnnggggg. The narrator was good and pleasant to listen to. The story, however, was painful. The author is forever having the characters make the dumbest, unfunny smart-alec remarks to each other - you will just cringe. There was nothing in this story that should have taken so long to tell. Too long, too boring. Skip it.

A very serious first hand look at one woman's Islamic upbringing. The author/narrator was very good, I like her accent and find her pleasant to listen to. Her story is incredible because her courage is boundless. What she is able to achieve will stagger you. I think this woman needs to be listened to.

I liked the narrator. The story is fast paced and interesting, however if you have seen more than three horror movies in your time you will know what's going to happen next since it's formulaic. If I could I would give it a 3.5.
