It is January 1944 - and as Allied troops prepare for D day, Nazi scientists develop a toxic nerve gas that will repel and wipe out any invasion force. To salvage the planned assault, two vastly different but equally determined men are sent to infiltrate the secret concentration camp where the poison gas is being perfected on human subjects. Their only objective: destroy all traces of the gas and the men who created it - no matter how many lives may be lost...including their own.

Where does Black Cross rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

hmmmm.... not sure where it ranks. It is a bit different from what I normally read or listen to, but I really did enjoy it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rachel. She was so strong and so humble.

What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?

Nothing I can pinpoint. Was just a pleasure to listen to.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Life can make you change your beliefs.

    Any additional comments?

I have always been fascinated by this time in history. This book gave such an intimate look at what it might of been like and the decision that had to be made. It shows strength, courgage, love and hope in the face of such horrible oppression. In real life I would of loved to of had people in my life like some of these characters.

Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Would you consider the audio edition of Notorious Nineteen to be better than the print version?

I can't say better cause I LOVE to read print versions as well, but they are neck and neck. Lorelei King is the perfect voice for these books.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I have read everyone of Janet Evanovich's books. You would think I could predict where she is going with a story line by now, but someone she still keeps me guessing!!!!

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This one compares with all the others.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I always laugh when reading Stephanie Plum books. And actually this one (in my opionion) was a bit more emotional. I think Stephanie is finally starting to grow up (just a little) If she grew up emotionally too fast it would not be believable. Janet is doing a great job with her maturity transformation.

    Any additional comments?

    Nothing but..... LOVE IT.
