Continuing the inspiring story begun in his first book, Every Second Counts captures the mind-set of a man who has beaten incredible odds and considers each day an opportunity for excellence.

Wayne says: "Good Book - Unfortunate Narrator"
"It helps bring closure to the first book."
    Overall

The first book was a journey. This book is closure! I eagerly delved into the second book. It is not as inciteful as the second. It is more systematic, and a reafirmation of the first book. I truly recommend it, a worthy sequel. But it is a little different than the first. I think this one was "work" compared to the first (the first was just pure energy!). My wife went through cancer treatments at age 32 - and this was a nice compaion of hope and motiviation.

People around the world have found inspiration in the story of Lance Armstrong - a world-class athlete nearly struck down in his prime, who fought back to win the world's most grueling test of cycling, the Tour de France. It's Not About the Bike is the amazing story of Armstrong's journey from inauspicious beginnings, through triumph, tragedy, transformation, and transcendence.

My wife went through cancer at age 32. I listented to this afterwards. Whew! It was so intense to me that I would sit in the parking lot for an extra 5 minutes to listen. Armstrong doesn't pull punches - he tells it like it is (language and all). I wish I had his drive at anything. Honest. Insightful. But don't expect answers in this book - expect motivation.

Tom Clancy returns to Jack Ryan's early days, in an extraordinary new novel of global political drama. Ryan's first days on the job at the CIA put him into a high-stakes game, playing for the life of the Pope and the stability of the Western world.

    Jerret says: "Combined review"
    "Enthralling - and detailed!"
    Overall

This is one of those lengthy books that Clancy does. It really develops before getting to the "real excitement". But I like his details, so be warned that he often goes down those introspective pathways to provide character insight.
