Liam Pennywell, who set out to be a philosopher and ended up teaching fifth grade, never much liked the job at that run-down private school, so early retirement doesnt bother him. But he is troubled by his inability to remember anything about the first night that he moved into his new, spare, and efficient condominium on the outskirts of Baltimore. All he knows when he wakes up the next day in the hospital is that his head is sore and bandaged.

Like the reviewer before me, I have had to force myself to finish this book. Not only is the main
character uninteresting, but the narrator brings no warmth to the story, whatsoever. A big disappointment.

The women at Vows - a wedding planning company in Connecticut - make it their business to create memorable events for couples sealing their bonds. And though the bonds among Parker, Emma, Mac, and Laurel may not be official, they are very real - and equally worthy of celebration.

Wait!! What a disappointment! I had listened to the other Bride books
before this one and (my fault) bought this one just assuming it was the same narrator. Talk about night and day...this narrator sounds like she is about fourteen and all the characters come off sounding like they are pre-teens as
well. Good book, poor choice of narrator...

On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a young woman's worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals and at the center of scandal and tragedy, Jade ran as far and as fast as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy "company town" where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family.

This the first audiobook I've listened to where I have barely been able to finish the book due to the narration. While the story itself was well written, and well-paced with good characterization, I found the narrator's breathy attempts to sound female annoying and distracting.
