I used to work for the Telepath’s Guild before they kicked me out for a drug habit that wasn’t entirely my fault. Now I work for the cops, helping Homicide Detective Isabella Cherabino put killers behind bars. My ability to get inside the twisted minds of suspects makes me the best interrogator in the department. But the normals keep me on a short leash. When the Tech Wars ripped the world apart, the Guild stepped up to save it. But they had to get scary to do it - real scary.

Where does Clean rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank Clean among the top 10. Set in the future with telepaths and high technology is truly fantastic. Adam Ward is a very likeable character, flaws and all. Struggling to overcome his addiction he tries very hard to make a better life for himself.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Clean?

When he linked to Cherabino, his part-time partner and was able to hear her thoughts.

Have you listened to any of Daniel May’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes Daniel May's performance is outstanding as always! I bought this book when I saw who was the narrator. Daniel May was the narrator for C J Cherryh's Foreigner Series and he performed brilliantly. The author, Alex Hughes is very good too. I love the book so much that I finished it through the night. I'm downloading Bk 2 Sharp and start listening immediately. I hope Alex Hughes will write Bk 4 soon.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Any additional comments?

I will buy the whole series! It's worth the credit.

What did you love best about Blood Wager?

The whole story. It's certainly so much different from the usual vampire/paranormal. I like that the character given to Lissa, the heroine. The Council and the werewolves with their rules and differences. Certainly one of the best paranormal books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lissa. She is so sensible and strong and her willingness to just jump in and help when there's a need. Still at the same time human enough to feel unhappy with her plight.

What does Traci Odom bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Very good narrator. Very good with the male voices too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Lissa had to face the Council and be judged.

    Any additional comments?

I noticed that Audible have not got any more of the series. Please let us have the whole series ASAP? I'm waiting impatiently to read the next book.

Meanwhile, Mummy is holed up in a tiny village called Tiddleton-under-Lovey with that droll Noel Coward! And I’m snowed in at Castle Rannoch with my bumbling brother, Binky, and sourpuss sister-in-law, Fig.

What did you like best about The Twelve Clues of Christmas? What did you like least?

I like when Lady Georgie is kept busy solving cases. She is young and very resilient, able to overcome obstacles. I don't like it when she has to stay with her brother and sister-in-law.

What was most disappointing about Rhys Bowen’s story?

Her love life it seems to be going nowhere.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator's voice can be jarring at times.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Miles Vorkosigan is as good as ever. He is always right in the centre of trouble. He is able to get allies wherever he is and to get out of trouble with ease. I like the constant action - no dull periods at all. And when he is stumped he's able to come out with a solution though not always what his superiors would like but a good outcome anyway. The story plot is always, always good.
