"That Boy is perfect"
Youthful, thoughtful, a book with substance
Jenny Han's books: The Summer I Turned Pretty (series of 3 books), because both books sound as if the narrator is having a private conversation with you. Simone Elkeles' Ruined (Series of 3 books). Another strong female character who brings a conversational tone to the book. The books are laugh out loud funny. If I Stay by Gayle Forman, because of the interesting view point and dealing with the death of a family member. All of the books I've compared deal with books that have strong female leads. There's romance in all three recommendations. All the main characters are likable, complicated, and human.
I liked the scene with Danny teaching JJ how to kiss, because it made me laugh.
Yep. I loved the narrator and the book equally.
The narrator actually sounded like a teenager. I hate listening to a woman or man who sounds like they're 55 read the part of a teenager. I don't want to hear a raspy smokers / sexy voice when listening to YA. I want to hear a YA read a YA book. This narrator did just that. She is awesome.
"Come on Conrad you know you want Belly"
I loved both the print and audio versions. This is a book I can re-read or listen to it over and over again.
"Female Narrator is terrible"
I liked the story, but the female narrator was terrible. It was like listening to a middle aged Jan Brady trying to sound like a teenager. UGGHHH!
"Roll Your Eyes Terrible"
This book was poorly written and narrated. I couldn't decide who was worse and I'm going to say the author and narrator tied for the worst performance EVER! I was laughing so hard I peed my pants. My tip, listen with a group of friends and get ready to mock. If you want to roll your eyes a lot, then this is the book for you.
She is terrible. She overacts throughout and the character sounds psycho. But the psycho part is 50% the author's fault.
NOPE.
Why is the book and series popular? Got me. I have no clue. My tip, listen with a group of friends and get ready to mock.
