"Hard to warm up to.."
this story about longing after a man who has always treated a woman so badly. First Linda Howard novel for me; most likely last.
"So much I did not know.."
Great listen and I was fascinated by how much information contained in the book I had never heard before. At first I thought the narration was a little dull, but I got used to it pretty quickly and the story more than made up for it.
"Enjoyed this so much will listen again immediately"
Matter of fact, hilarious stories told only like Penn Jillette can. Listening to him in this book makes me want to hop on a plane to Vegas and see his show and meet him after.
"I tried to like this.."
but it took me a couple of months to get through. The performance was good, but the story, I found lacking.
"Could anyone not love this?"
From the beginning, I cared about this girl and her story - with humor and the perfect narration.
"Nice continuation of the series"
This is the first Laura Pedersen book I have listened to and I have read the first couple of books in this series. I enjoyed them all and the narration was true to what I had imagined from reading the books previously. I am sure you could listen to this without the first two books, but I would definitely recommend getting them all in order. The characters, like the story, are fun and enjoyable.
"Every bit as good as all Hiaasen"
I loved this as much as every other Carl Hiaasen novel I have read, but the narrator was very dry and disappointing. As always, the characters are over the top and entertaining as heck, but a good narrator could have enhanced the experience immensely.
"Judith Light narrating - what a treat!"
The story was right off the news, interesting, with likable characters. It was a wee bit predictable, but not annoyingly so. The narration was excellent!
"What happened?"
This story seemed to have some potential, but instead it was just tedious. And, if someone could explain the ending to me, I would feel better about it. I listened to the last 20 minutes 3 times and still cannot figure out what happened. And trust me, it was not that deep. Skip this one.
"Most enjoyable"
This is a touching story with indelible characters and top-notch narration.
