The Man of Property, the first novel in Galsworthy's epic social satire The Forsyte Saga, introduces us to Soames Forsyte, a solicitor and prominent man of his important family. Accustomed to getting whatever he wants, he sets his sights with absolute determination on the beautiful Irene, in spite of her pennilessness and her indifference to him.

I know this is supposed to be a great series and it is well reviewed by others but I just can't get into this book! I've endured 9 chapters and now I'm just giving up.
The book starts out with SO many characters that I have trouble keeping track of who is who in this family tree. Perhaps it would be better to read the book so that I could go back and review the characters? The reader is very good at emulating all of the different voices but there are just too many characters and details for me to keep things straight. Very little has happened in the plot and I have had to re-listen to much of the book so far just to figure out who everyone is and what is going on.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

I don't write many reviews of books but this is one really deserves kudos. The combination of gaming history and a very clever plot makes this book one that you won't want to end. The mental imagery that this book evokes was like a movie in my brain! Congratulations and thanks to Ernest Cline as well as Wil Wheaton for a great book and a great narration!

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

This book kept me interested at every turn. The characters were well developed and the plot was interesting. 40+ hours went by way too quickly! If you like Stephen King books, you'll love this one.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

    Overall

This was one of the best books I have listened to! The narrators are great and the author is very adept at creating believable characters. Although the premise of this book was not altogether pleasant, the upbeat and lively characters made it one that I am sorry to have finished. This is a book you don't want to miss!
