Love all things Scott Signler and this was no exception. I do not know how Scott comes up with this stuff (author of Infected, Contagious, and Ancestor- all EXCELLENT books too) but he has a unique story telling ability that makes you think of his books long after you are done reading them! My husband loves him too! Look what other amazing authors have to say about him-"A terrifying science thriller that reads like Silence of the Lambs as written by Michael Crichton. Inventive and deeply disturbing." -- Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Assassin's Code (love Assassins Code Series)
"Sigler is in full control of his talent for sharp characterization and amazing visualization." -- Charlaine Harris, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Sookie Stackhouse series
(love the Sookie Stackhouse series). You will not be disappointed, give Scott a try. Excerpt: "Doubting his own sanity and stripped of his badge, Bryan begins to suspect that he’s stumbled into the crosshairs of a shadow war that has gripped his city for more than a century—a war waged by a race of killers living in San Francisco’s unknown, underground ruins, emerging at night to feed on those who will not be missed". HECK YEAH!
Not sure, I felt like Hank writes about what he knows which is publishing and I personally didnt love Don's narration style.
The Strangest Secret
Someone less mono tone
There was some humor.
I have only purchased the audio version but I cannot imagine not having Kristine Hvam's voice in my head, she is terrific.
This series reminds me of the Sookie Stackhouse-True Blood series because of the diverse characters and crazy plot twists, plus both are set in Lousiana and both have vampires.
I loved to hear how about Bruiser see's Jane and I also liked to hear about what happened in the mine, since that was how the first book started.
I did find myself laughing out loud at times.
At first the "Beast" voice annoyed me and seemed silly. I got used to it quickly and ended up liking it. There are some things that "she" says that do not make sense, she describes some things clearly and some as a "cat' would. For example she might say "the hard black shiny surface that trucks drive on", um ok, you don't know what a ROAD is but you know what a TRUCK is? I just had to overlook those kinds of details.
Nothing new in this book, it's typical Tony Robbin, inspiring, awesome, full of energy. I have listened to it a couple of times and will keep re-playng it.
What an amazing ending to this series. Scott is so adept at painting a gruesome (this is the most disgusting and descriptive book so far!) horrific and wonderful picture. I hung on every word! I am re-listening to Infected now!
This is more then just another positive speaking book this is a wake up call. Of COURSE changing your words will change your life! I have listeneid to this repeatedly because I want it to sink in. There are many valuable insights in this book and it is well worth listening to. It touches on silencing the negative inner voice, not listening to the drainers and listening to and understanding what GOD says about you.
This is an amazing tool. I commute 45 minutes each way to work and home and I have listened to this book in my car many many times. It is so helpful, refreshing, calming, heartening! It is insightful and fresh and wonderful. Joyce has a way of expressing things in a way no one else can. She tells her own story and invites you to take a look at yourself and your life and find your own way. Did not love the narration, it was done by Joyce's daughter (she seemed kind of wooden and lacked inflection) I wish Joyce would have done it herself. Overall- great listen.
This was a surprisingly interesting book! While it is pretty common knowlege that a lot of the things in the media about celebrities are "staged", this book puts a whole new spin on it and even causes you to see things in a different light. Why do people hate Lindsay Lohan but love Charlie Sheen? Do celebrities really plan thier hook ups and break ups around their careers? Do publicists tip off photographers when thier clients go places? You have to read it to find out but its all in there and you wont look at celebrity headlines the same way.
I started out on this series because of the many great reviews but when I started listening to the first book I thought that I wouldnt like it because of the concept of a big cat type "being" inside a bounty hunter woman. Also the cat-voice threw me off a bit at first. I decided to stick with it and all of the sudden I am on the 6th book! It kind of snuck up on me and I became interested in the characters and the ongoing storyline and even liked the narration! Give this series a shot, it is very entertaining.
This is such an amazing book with practical and useful tips for every stage of your career. I have used these applications, still use these applications and give advice to female friends and family from this book. I actually bought a few hard copies to give to my daughter, mom and daugher in law. Kate has a great story telling ability and does just enough name dropping to make it interesting. I have listened to this book several times and each time I absorb a little something more. If you are female and you are working you need this book! If you are looking for a job, you need this book. If you are in school, you need this book. There are many valuable life lessons to be learned here!
This is an easy listen with lots of great isable tips and insights. I have started to use some of these methods and and noticed a difference in the way people relate to me. I have listend to the book a few times and each time I absorb new information. The narration is good and I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to benefit from a little more charisma.
