Would you consider the audio edition of Rot & Ruin to be better than the print version?

I definitely like the audio versions better than the print versions because the narrators bring more emotion to the book and give more insight to the characters.

What other book might you compare Rot & Ruin to and why?

This is not a story line I have read before, it is original to me.

What does Brian Hutchison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Emotion, clarity, understanding

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I could not wait for the next book to come out to find out what happens!

    Any additional comments?

I listened to this because my ten year old wanted to listen so I needed to check it out first. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!

A practical, entertaining handbook for people who never expected to be bosses. Plenty of managers never asked, expected, or trained to be put in charge of other people. But when it happens, these accidental bosses often find that learning to manage is like learning to swim by being dropped into the deep end of the pool. Hank Gilman knows what that's like. As a top editor for Fortune, Newsweek, and the Boston Globe, he has helped nurture some outstanding talent.

Would you try another book from Hank Gilman and/or Don Hagen?

Not sure, I felt like Hank writes about what he knows which is publishing and I personally didnt love Don's narration style.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    The Strangest Secret

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Don Hagen?

    Someone less mono tone

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    There was some humor.

For the first time - in one Audible-exclusive collection - it's 13 stories of Jane Yellowrock, the shape-shifting skinwalker and vampire hunter for hire whose business card reads, "Have Stakes - Will Travel". Jane carries inside her the soul of her Beast, the mountain lion's soul which merged with hers when she accidently performed black magic as a child. Now, she and her Beast stalk the dark streets of New Orleans, bringing rogue vampires true death.

Would you consider the audio edition of Cat o' Nine Tales to be better than the print version?

I have only purchased the audio version but I cannot imagine not having Kristine Hvam's voice in my head, she is terrific.

What other book might you compare Cat o' Nine Tales to and why?

This series reminds me of the Sookie Stackhouse-True Blood series because of the diverse characters and crazy plot twists, plus both are set in Lousiana and both have vampires.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved to hear how about Bruiser see's Jane and I also liked to hear about what happened in the mine, since that was how the first book started.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did find myself laughing out loud at times.

    Any additional comments?

At first the "Beast" voice annoyed me and seemed silly. I got used to it quickly and ended up liking it. There are some things that "she" says that do not make sense, she describes some things clearly and some as a "cat' would. For example she might say "the hard black shiny surface that trucks drive on", um ok, you don't know what a ROAD is but you know what a TRUCK is? I just had to overlook those kinds of details.

To others, she's a monster - a mass murderer single-handedly responsible for the worst atrocity ever to take place on American soil. All Margaret knows is that she's broken. Building on the premises of Power Thoughts and Living Beyond Your Emotions, Joyce Meyer examines the tremendous power of words. - which are the vehicles that convey our thoughts and emotions - and provides a series of guidelines for making sure that our talk is constructive, healthy, healing and used to good results. In a "Dictionary of God's Word" at the end of the book, Joyce provides dozens of scripture verses, arranged by topic, that she recommends reading and saying out loud as one way of using and claiming healing words.

It touches on silencing the negative inner voice, not listening to the drainers and listening to and understanding what GOD says about you.

This is an amazing tool. I commute 45 minutes each way to work and home and I have listened to this book in my car many many times. It is so helpful, refreshing, calming, heartening! It is insightful and fresh and wonderful. Joyce has a way of expressing things in a way no one else can. She tells her own story and invites you to take a look at yourself and your life and find your own way. Did not love the narration, it was done by Joyce's daughter (she seemed kind of wooden and lacked inflection) I wish Joyce would have done it herself. Overall- great listen.

What do Bush-era economics have to do with the rise of Kim Kardashian? How do the laws of supply and demand explain why the stars of Teen Mom are on the cover of Us Weekly? Find out.

This was a surprisingly interesting book! While it is pretty common knowlege that a lot of the things in the media about celebrities are "staged", this book puts a whole new spin on it and even causes you to see things in a different light. Why do people hate Lindsay Lohan but love Charlie Sheen? Do celebrities really plan thier hook ups and break ups around their careers? Do publicists tip off photographers when thier clients go places? You have to read it to find out but its all in there and you wont look at celebrity headlines the same way.

I started out on this series because of the many great reviews but when I started listening to the first book I thought that I wouldnt like it because of the concept of a big cat type "being" inside a bounty hunter woman. Also the cat-voice threw me off a bit at first. I decided to stick with it and all of the sudden I am on the 6th book! It kind of snuck up on me and I became interested in the characters and the ongoing storyline and even liked the narration! Give this series a shot, it is very entertaining.

If you are in school, you need this book. There are many valuable life lessons to be learned here!

What if charisma could be taught? For the first time, science and technology have taken charisma apart, figured it out and turned it into an applied science: In controlled laboratory experiments, researchers could raise or lower people's level of charisma as if they were turning a dial. What you'll find here is practical magic: unique knowledge, drawn from a variety of sciences, revealing what charisma really is and how it works. You'll get both the insights and the techniques you need to apply this knowledge. The world will become your lab, and every person you meet, a chance to experiment.
