Rachel Stone is a widow and single mother, broke and alone. Worse, her late husband, a televangelist, stole five million dollars, none of which came to her. Nor did she know about the theft, but it still makes her an outcast, and she is desperate. Then she meets Gabriel Bonner, who gives her a job. Romantic sparks fly, but love is never easy. Gabriel has a tragic loss of his own, and his family, fearing Rachel's motives, campaigns loudly against her.

If you want wonderful, predictable, sexy, romance with a lot of family values and really likeable characters then this series regarding the Bonner family is for you. I keep checking the calendar, waiting for a credit to become available, and then buying another book anyway. I am addicted to the combo of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Anna Fields.

Fourteen-year-old Carey and six-year-old Jenessa have lived in the woods with their mother for as long as they can remember. Now abandoned, they must fend for themselves - until they’re found by Carey’s father and thrust into a bright and perplexing new world of comfort. Carey desperately wants to believe in this new reality but is held back by loyalty to her mentally ill mother, who gave Carey her violin and taught her to play the music that helps her survive.

I was riveted by this book. I usually want my credits to be used for longer titles but this book is outstanding. Narrator was perfect. I listened to it in about 24 hours but every time I re-started the app, the cover graphic was so poignant. It's really just a great listen, excellent book and worthy performance.

Music has set the tone for most of Zoe Baxter’s life. And it’s music that brings her back to love. When fertility issues lead to a divorce, Zoe throws herself into her career as a music therapist. As an unexpected friendship with a woman slowly blossoms into love, she makes plans for a new life, but to her shock and inevitable rage, some people - even those she loves and trusts most - don’t want that to happen.

Really great listen. Offers a lot of insight into two very divergent views. I was put off by the songs introducing the sections of the book at first but I came to really appreciate them. Loved it and may have to listen again. Today.

This is a darkly hilarious coming-of-age novel and a richly plotted suspense tale told through the distinctive voice of its heroine, Blue van Meer. After a childhood spent moving from one academic outpost to another with her father, Blue is clever and possessed of a vast lexicon of knowledge. But when a drowning and the shocking death of a teacher lead to a confluence of mysteries, Blue is left to make sense of it all with only her gimlet-eyed instincts and cultural references to guide - or misguide - her.

I think I bought this book when it was on sale because it was long... It turned out to be really quite riveting. I loved it and I look forward to more from this author. (I think this book would have driven me completely nuts in print since it is heavily footnoted; the narrator managed to make that amusing instead of annoying.)

Dean Robillard is the Chicago Stars' hotshot quarterback. Not only does he have lightening reflexes on the field, he is also utterly gorgeous. First seen in the critically acclaimed Match Me If You Can, Dean is trying to recover (both mentally and physically) from a shoulder injury by taking a road trip. Along the way he meets Blue, a beautiful woman down on her luck, and as they spend more time together their attraction grows.

It might be just another romance - but it's a really great one! Absolutely delightful for the past two dayx and although it is 2:30 on Monday morning and I need to be in a meeting at 8:30 Monday - I'll probably finish the next 43 minutes no matter how bad tomorrow might feel (AND I've got a 12 hour day ahead of me tomorrow). This is my second audible from this author and I really love them. She was recommended from one of my very favorite authors (Diana Gabaldon) and I'm definetly a fan!
