"Its not all that!"
a different story would have been great. I did not like it, it started off well but the development felt flat. I did not like the ending or the lack of romance and sex in this one. Put it as a historical fiction and not romance.
I did not understand what is all the hype about. Granted the author put a lot of work into developing the area the book is set in but I am more impressed by the characters in books rather then the houses they live in.
something not written by Susanna Kearsley
Rosalyn Landor is one of my favorite narrators. She is exceptional whatever book she reads. All the characters are portrayed great.
I do not know if I would cut rather then reform the book. It felt as if parts of it were missing.
Do not listen to this book if you expect romance and HEA for everyone. A mother will never separate from her child if she wants and have raised the child to the age of 3 or if she does it is with every intention of getting that child back. Sorry for the spoiler but that rubbed me very wrong.
"From laughs to love... Best narration"
Absolutely. I picked up this book solely for the narration, Aasne Vigesaa is exceptional, but the story was so quirky, funny and enjoyable I fell in love with it as well.
Finn, I love his attitude, he has an uncomplicated maleness about him.
Yes I have. I think this is one of the best since I loved the story so much. I keep looking the books that she has narrated and I wish there were more in the Romance genre. She has this awesome melodic voice and does a great build up when reading. I absolutely love her female and male narrations
I would say there were a lot. The love scenes are out of this world funny in a very good way. The reaction of the characters was hilarious both during and after and the conversation priceless.
More books from this narrator please!!!!
"I could not stop listening, this book was amazing!"
Absolutely. From the stellar narration to the witty banter to the heartbreaking ending, the book was one of the few this year that stands out for me. Definitely will re-listen
Linnet of course, she was beautiful, charming, witty and sarcastic, she gave as good as she got but is kindhearted as well. I loved the heroine that was able to love the hero despite his foul character at first:)
Hands down Piers Yelverton, Earl of Marchant, she did marvelous job with his voice, I was amazed that a woman narrator can interpret someone so well, she made him come alive. Excellent job.
When Linnet got sick and was all alone
"Fantastic Narration"
I like Susan Elizabeth Phillips books but there is no better narration then the one by Anna Fields. All characters have a voice of their own and it is a lot of fun listening to this book.
"Was worth for narrator"
I did not like the story very much, I bought it because of the narrator
"One of the best this year!"
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Elizabeth Hoyt is becomming one of my favorites. I can not wait for the next in this series. Also narrator was good, I have not listened to anything narrated by her before but I did like her voice:) As far as the book yes it has rather explicit love scenes (not untill 70% of the book though) but I like it, if you do not like that, this book is probably not for you.
"Can not find better narrator"
the writting is good but if this was not narrated by Anna Fields I do not think I would like it half as much
"Nice and light!"
this was a quick listen and I bought it because of the narator mostly. I enjoyed it, however this would have been a good anthology, I did not like that 3 authors are writing the same story even if there are different couples involved.
"Fantastic"
great story and great narrator, I was actually thinking of buying the second one as well but I saw that it is not narrated by Aasne Vigesaa but by someone who did not do a good job in my opinion, this one however is worth buying
"Fantastic series"
Halfway to the grave is one of my favorite PNR series, very interesting story, likable heroine and sexy british vampire. My problem with the audio version is Bones's british accent. The narrator is great at portraying Cat but there is a LOT to be desired from Bone's accent. I just couldnt listen to it, he doesnt sound manly or sexy at all. Book deserves 5 stars but the narator KILLED Bones which made me sad.
