This book works in every way. The writing is done well. It's not to difficult to understand yet it's not immature. The plot is believable, and your captured from the start. The narrators voice is lovely and perfect for the story. Occasionally the volume decreases so you just turn it up. All in all, a job well done.

Welcome to Wayward Pines, population 461. Nestled amid picture-perfect mountains, the idyllic town is a modern-day Eden - except for the electrified fence and razor wire, snipers scoping everything 24/7, and the relentless surveillance tracking each word and gesture. None of the residents know how they got here. They are told where to work, how to live, and who to marry. Some believe they are dead. Others think they're trapped in an unfathomable experiment. Builds on the earlier story so it helps to read the first book. However it could stand alone. First book was slower and plodded along at times but in general, one of the better series. Worth listening to.

Janis Ian was catapulted into the spotlight in 1966 at the age of 15, when her soul-wrenching song "Society's Child" became a hit. But this was only the beginning of a long and illustrious career. In Society's Child, Janis Ian provides a relentlessly honest account of the successes and failures - and the hopes and dreams - of an extraordinary life.

Would you listen to Society's Child again? Why?

I'm sure that I will read this over many times over the years. The story has tremendous impact and is a psychological roller coaster.

What did you like best about this story?

She tells it like it is, the good, the bad and the ugly. She also includes insight as to how she developed her songs. She also sings verses of some of her hits. You get it all !!!

Which character – as performed by Janis Ian – was your favorite?

She has great control of her voice and is one of the best narrators I've listened to and I listen a lot.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! She was inspirational and kudos to her for writing this book.

    Any additional comments?

I hope she chooses to narrate additional books in the future

Cold days was a dramatic improvement over the last two books. Harry shows signs of growth in his mental, psychological, and magical capabilities. I wish Karen had more to do in the book.

James masters " is Harry Dresden". I can not imagine anyone else reading this book.
