the writing is good but the pc aspect is annoying
no because I am angry that the "gay" aspect is once again brought unecessarily into a story.
the first chapter
don't really have an answer for that.. for me NO.
why does Hollywood and now, writers, feel that it is their duty to consistently bring the gay agenda into stories where it really has no bearing. It is as if there is a mission to shove this down everyone's throats at any expense, even good writing. Where it matters and is actually part of the story - fine. But when peppered in just to push an agenda i find it distracting and a total turn off.
This is a collection of stories and delivered in a rather fractured format. The narrator is boring and monotone. did not enjoy the narration and the book did not deliver.
well, can't say I enjoyed this as much as the english assassin. some redundancy in the descriptive writing and a bit predictable.
This was a really good book that held my interest. The climax was full of twists and turns.
Altogether an enjoyable & spellbinding read
i stuck it out till the end - and it was as I thought about 1/3 of the way through the book. it just seemed to fizzle. not her best.
After Cuckoo's calling I expected more -- or more of the same quality story. The story was complicated - delving into the world of writers and publishing houses -- the characters bizarre and none of them were endearing - except for Stryker maybe. I didn't care what happened to any of the others. He was the only hero.
I didn't care for this book - though I like JK Rowling immensely.
I do hope we hear more from Robert Galbraith - just didn't care for this one.
I thought this spy novel by Daniel Silva was good. The narrator was right on and there was good character development and historical action. Enjoyed.
This trilogy is interesting and has a bit more character development than the hunger games. But at the end of the day, the delivery and narration is very juvenile in some parts of the book and I had trouble getting through it. I think this is a book I would rather read and invent the voices and tones of the characters in my head than actually listen to the teenage inflections. Story is great, though quite violent at times. I think I will read nr 3. on my kindle.
well written and well delivered. I enjoyed listening to this book and it held my interest as being suspenseful with good character development.
This was so interesting in the beginning chapters - then it got very elementary and fell apart. I admit I did not finish the book. After my interest had begun waning, I skipped ahead to each chapter ahead seeking improvement. I did not find it.
not your average WWII story - really enjoyed this perspective. good story with many elements. you will not be disappointed but don't expect sunshine & puppies. WWII reality prevails.
