Catherine has been enjoying the single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic, spontaneous – Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. And her friends clearly agree, as each in turn falls under his spell. But there is a darker side to Lee. His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.

The reviews that talk about the confusing nature of the back and forth in time are correct. But if you will just keep in mind that 2008 is current and 2004 is looking back you will be fine. And the confusion is well worth it. Stick with it for an hour and it won't be a problem after that. This was a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator can make or break a book and this one is excellent. The suspense at times had me afraid to drive! Because of the back and forth in time, you know what is coming and you stay braced for it. Go for it - it is quite long and I still did not want it to end!

Haunted by the freak accident that killed their father when they were children, Jim and Bob Burgess escaped from their Maine hometown of Shirley Falls for New York City as soon as they possibly could. Jim, a sleek, successful corporate lawyer, has belittled his bighearted brother their whole lives, and Bob, a Legal Aid attorney who idolizes Jim, has always taken it in stride. But their long-standing dynamic is upended when their sister, Susan - the Burgess sibling who stayed behind - urgently calls them home.

Rarely is there a book so bad that I won't finish it. But this one about 1/2 half thru I have given up on. I normally listen on my commute to and from work. Sitting in the car today with nothing to do, I did not listen - I just really don't care what happens. There is not one character in the book even remotely likable. The narrator is good, but the material is so tedious and the characters so unsympathetic. I like none of these people. I am done with them. Give me my credit back!

What fun! The narrator is awesome and varies her voice among her characters superbly. The royalty aspect is an entertaining glimpse into the royal world. The characters are well developed. The writing is terrific and I found myself laughing out loud at times. Can't wait to start the 2nd book in the series.

Just as good as the first in the series - Only Time will Tell. Do get them in order for sure. The narrator is excellent, the characters compelling, the story line mesmerizing. Can't say enough good about it. Can't wait for the third installment due out in 2013!

Graham Greene’s evocative analysis of the love of self, the love of another, and the love of God is an English classic that has been translated for the stage, the screen, and even the opera house. Academy Award-winning actor Colin Firth (The King’s Speech, A Single Man) turns in an authentic and stirring performance for this distinguished audio release.

Welcome to a world of reckless sensuality and glittering sophistication, of dangerously handsome gentlemen and young ladies longing to gain a title, of games played for high stakes, including - on occasion - a lady's virtue. A marquess's sheltered only daughter, Lady Roberta St. Giles, falls in love with a man she glimpses across a crowded ballroom: a duke, a game player of consummate skill, a notorious rakehell who shows no interest in marriage, until he lays eyes on Roberta.

Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

16 hours long and I still wanted more! The story is great, particularly the first part of the book before it jumps to current day. The narrator was superb! Great variation in voices and all pleasant to listen to. You knew which character was speaking just by her various voices. I have read a lot of Nora Roberts books but have never enjoyed one more than this one. You can't miss with this one!

In the fall of 1984, high school students Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole fell deeply, irrevocably in love. Though they were from opposite sides of the tracks, their love for one another seemed to defy the realities of life in the small town of Oriental, North Carolina. But as the summer of their senior year came to a close, unforeseen events would tear the young couple apart, setting them on radically divergent paths.

The story line is weak and slow. The characters are not appealing. You really don't care what happens to them. I am 90% through with the book and have quit listening. The ending is now obvious and so ridiculous that I can't stand to listen to it. This book is sappy beyond belief. The narrator is just OK.

From the internationally best-selling author of Kane and Abel and A Prisoner of Birth comes Only Time Will Tell, the first in an ambitious new series that tells the story of one family across generations, across oceans, from heartbreak to triumph. The epic tale of Harry Clifton’s life begins in 1920, with the words "I was told that my father was killed in the war"....

This is one of the best books I have listened to on Audible. The story is well written and the characters well developed. You love some of them and despise at least one. It is historically interesting as well. The narrator is superb - reminds me of Anthony Hopkins. The other narrator has such a small piece I barely remember her - but she certainly did not detract from the story as many narrators can do. I hated to turn it off and couldn't wait to get back to my book. It is a long book - but didn't last long enuogh. I so hated to see it end and can't wait for the sequel. I hope the same narrator reads the sequel!

On a rainy Southern night, Jade Sperry endured a young woman's worst nightmare at the hands of three local hell-raisers. Robbed of her youthful ideals and at the center of scandal and tragedy, Jade ran as far and as fast as she could. But she never forgot the sleepy "company town" where every man, woman, and child was dependent on one wealthy family.

This is probably a good book. But the narrator is so horrendous I couldn't finish it. His voice for his female characters is so irritating I couldn't stand to listen any more. Remember Tootsie? That is his voice for every female in the book. Awful!
