As a mother of two daughters and knowing how Jodi's books always strike a deep nerve, I hesitated to buy this audiobook. I knew that it would be hard, in parts, to hear--and it was at times. But it was wonderfully written, taking every character's point of view to such detailed depth. I cried with Anna and for her. The entire storyline was such a gut-wrenching subject that I found myself one the side of Anna, then her sister, then her mom...all had valid reasons for what they did. Contrary to some reviews, I loved the ending. It was one that I did not see coming and I'm usually pretty good at predicting book endings. Without giving it away entirely, I was sad, but somehow, it seemed to go along with Anna's giving nature--simply trying to follow the wishes of her sister.
