"good, but too repetitive"
This book is good, there're some great concepts in it, but many things in it just repeat over and over again. This book should not be longer than 30 minutes.
"Mediocre"
This is a very mediocre book at best. I'm not a big fan of Mysteries & Thrillers, but every so often I download one, just to relax. This book just did not do it for me. The story and the plot line are not very interesting, it wasn't really well written and what made the whole thing worse are boring, uneventful dialogs which the book is full of.
"Very good"
I love Murakami. And I love Ruper Degas.
His books are SOOOO WELL WRITTEN.
"amusing"
I really liked the first half of this book. It was amusing, even funny at times.
I didn't like the second half too much. As soon as he mentioned the bar owner Rubinstein (Jack Ruby's real name), I knew the book would make references to the JFK assassination and the rest of the book would make assumptions that have nothing to do with historical facts.
"overrated"
I don't understand why everyone raves so much about this book. From a literary standpoint, it is a good book, but not a great book. There're extremely well written books out there that never received attention nor fame anywhere close to this book. Books that are really well written, but not written to impress, touch or induce tears.
This is a good book and that's about it. Did it deserve the Pulitzer prize? I don't know. It's a lot like president Obama receiving the Nobel prize for peace. Sure, he's done some good things already, but did the deserve the Nobel prize for that?
I'm a father of a little boy and this book did appeal to me in that way. But I love reading books that are WELL WRITTEN, not the books that appeal to me personally.
"not good at all"
This book is a complete joke. Although the author's personal story is touching, there's no trace to scientific approach to what the book's title suggests.
"Very good"
I really enjoyed listening to this book a lot. The narrator is great, I do not understand what some other listeners disliked about him.
The book is very well written, and I really loved it until the last part. The last part was somewhat disappointing as some historical facts were changed, but other than that the book is a very handsome read.
