  • Pandemic: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 55 mins)
    • By Scott Sigler
    • Narrated By Phil Gigante

The entire human race balances on the razor's edge of annihilation, beset by an enemy that turns our own bodies against us, that changes normal people into psychopaths or transforms them into nightmares. To some, Doctor Margaret Montoya is a hero-a brilliant scientist who saved the human race from an alien intelligence determined to exterminate all of humanity. To others, she's a monster - a mass murderer single-handedly responsible for the worst atrocity ever to take place on American soil. All Margaret knows is that she's broken. The blood of a million deaths is on her hands.

Shawna M says: "A Good Ending to the Series"
"I will never look at Triangles the same again"
Would you consider the audio edition of Pandemic to be better than the print version?

I am a fan of the audiobooks. Due to my schedule and on the road a lot.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked Margaret throughout the series. And she steps out more fully as a character in the third book.

Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Phil Gigante is one of my favorite narrators. Although Scott Sigler did the narration on books one and two in this trilogy, I had no problem with character identification in this book.

    Any additional comments?

This trilogy grabs you and takes off like a rocket, but definitely should be read in order. 4 STARS

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Greg Kincaid
    • Narrated By Mark Bramhall
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Todd, the youngest of four children, has a developmental disability that keeps him at home on the farm with his mother and father. One special holiday season, Todd hears an ad on the radio from a shelter looking for temporary homes for their dogs during the holiday week. When Todd's parents at last give in to his pleas for this charitable cause, the family is faced with an entire shelter full of dogs needing homes.

Gary L. Parks says: "If you love dogs, Christmas and Wisdom..."
    "Christmas never ends"
Would you listen to A Dog Named Christmas again? Why?

I will be listening to this one again. Wonderful story about family and healing. Loved the characters and the first person telling of the story. The narrator was perfect for this one. Wonderfully surprised and ended with a heartfelt feel good spirit.

  • Empire of the Summer Moon

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 4 mins)
    • By S. C. Gwynne
    • Narrated By David Drummond

Few people realize that the Comanche Indians were the greatest warring tribe in American history. Their 40-year battle with settlers held up the development of the new nation. Empire of the Summer Moon tells of the rise and fall of this fierce, powerful, and proud tribe, and begins in 1836 with the kidnapping of a lovely nine-year-old girl with cornflower blue eyes named Cynthia Ann Parker.

    "History comes alive"

I am living in the area around Fort Sill, and this really was an interesting tale about the history of the area and great plains Indians. I actually took a tour of Quannah Parker's STAR HOUSE where it has been moved to a little historical area at Cache, Oklahoma. The narrator is easy to follow and kept my interest.
