Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

Would you try another book from George R. R. Martin and/or Roy Dotrice?

Yes, because I have read this series many times and am waiting for the next installment.

What did you like best about this story?

The way all the characters work together, how nothing is sacred, don't be shocked by anyone dying or having something horrible happen. Like real life! And the story completely absorbs me.

How could the performance have been better?

I know it's difficult to do both men's and women's voices, but sometimes the men just sound awful, like old women. Everyone sounds old, and really in these books, people are younger than the same types of characters in other books. It might be better not to do such extreme voices, just enough so we can differentiate in conversations.

Could you see A Dance with Dragons being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Well...as we know, HBO is already broadcasting Game of Thrones. For the most part, I think the casting is good. Except I picture Cersei as absolutely gorgeous, and although Lena Headey is lovely, she is just not what I picture. Arya: great casting! Did not really like the casting of Catelyn Stark or Lysa Arryn. But most of the casting is excellent.

What did you love best about Inferno?

That it kept me guessing, I didn't figure everything out right away.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Bertrand Zobrist, because he was so complex

What about Paul Michael’s performance did you like?

His voices and accents were good.

    Yes

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and no. Although the general narration is great, I do not like some of the voices of this narrator. Some characters that are strong men sound like old British women. But this series is one of the best I have ever read (I read the books previously).

What did you like best about this story?

The character development, the world the author creates.

Would you be willing to try another one of Roy Dotrice’s performances?

    Yes, possibly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Winter is coming.
