Time moves forward, not backward---everyone knows you can't unscramble an egg. In the hands of one of today's hottest young physicists, that simple fact of breakfast becomes a doorway to understanding the Big Bang, the universe, and other universes, too. In From Eternity to Here, Sean Carroll argues that the arrow of time, pointing resolutely from the past to the future, owes its existence to conditions before the Big Bang itself---a period of modern cosmology of which Einstein never dreamed.

I could not complete this AB, and regret its purchase. The analogies cited were sometimes helpful, but many could not be followed without supporting graphics. Using analogies to describe what something is NOT is pointless and confusing.

I may be too simple-minded to grasp the concepts being presented, although I did enjoy listening to Stephen Hawking's "The Grand Design" and felt comfortable to consider additional titles.

What really turned me off were Sean Carroll's injections of demonstrating his supposed cleverness over others in his field. Coupled with Mr. Synnestvedt's narration sounding to me like that of satirist Mo Rocca, this AB lacked the humility I expect from a great mind pondering the mysteries of our universe.

The world of 2060 is divided into three spheres of influence, each fighting with the others over the resources of fallen nations and an environment degraded almost to the point of no return. There is the Dispensation, centered in Los Angeles, where entertainment and capitalism have fused with the highest of high-tech.

I wish I had paid attention to the previous negative reviews, because I have discovered that they are accurate. I am almost finished listening to this AB, and it is amazing how often I've considered giving up the laborious task.
