  • Suspect

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 30 mins)
    • By Robert Crais
    • Narrated By MacLeod Andrews
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

    Jacqueline says: "Gripping Page Turner!!"
    "Best "Heroine" Ever"
What did you love best about Suspect?

Have always loved Crais, but in SUSPECT he takes it to a new level of mystery, suspense and heart.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Suspect?

All of them, Could feel the acceptance between Maggie and Scott, especially in the car. Dog lovers know what I mean as I could almost feel the presence of Maggie as she nudged against Scott.

    Any additional comments?

Don't wait to buy this work, you won't regret it.

  • After I'm Gone: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 34 mins)
    • By Laura Lippman
    • Narrated By Linda Emond

Dead is dead. Missing is gone. When Felix Brewer meets nineteen-year-old Bernadette "Bambi" Gottschalk at a Valentine's Day dance in 1959, he charms her with wild promises, some of which he actually keeps. Thanks to his lucrative - if not all legal - businesses, she and their three little girls live in luxury. But on the Fourth of July in 1976, Bambi's comfortable world implodes when Felix, facing prison, vanishes. Though Bambi has no idea where her husband - or his money - might be, she suspects one woman does: his devoted young mistress, Julie.

    C. Vincent says: "Cannot rate this highly enough!"
    "I gave up!"

Laura Lippman's books usually hold my attention from the very beginning of the story but this one never grabbed me. The jumping back and forth between time periods and characters was too confusing .... Sorry Ms. Lippman but this one failed, I rarely stop reading or listening but I did on this one after about 2 1/2 hours.

  • Another Man's Moccasins: A Walt Longmire Mystery

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Craig Johnson
    • Narrated By George Guidall

Craig Johnson's mystery stories have earned him an esteemed position in the pantheon of contemporary crime novelists. In this fourth installment, Longmire is called to investigate a dead Vietnamese girl found along the Wyoming highway.

    "Just OK book"

I have listened to several of the books by author and this is my least favorite so for. I like the character, Walt Longmire, but did not like the back and forth between present and past. It seemed a little disjointed.
