Book 2 of the black prism series is great. it continues with the story nicely allowing you to see how each character develops as it moves. it makes you want to know what will happen next.
Now as for the reader, Simon Vance is a VAST improvement than the reader for book 1, Cristofer Jean. Simon made listening to the book a great pleasure. he made the characters identifiable, unlike Jean whom made Kip sound like a whinny brat and Gavin sound like Keanu Reeves.
I do like like this book and can't wait for the next. I hope that Simon Vance will stay as the reader for book 3
Cristofer Jean as a reader makes the main characters seem like idiots. (think "Bill and Ted's excellent adventure!). Gavin, one of the main characters, seems to have a plug up his nose. I had to force my way through the book listening to him. I would like to see if another reader could do a better job, but I know that will never happen.
Now Brent Weeks did a great job with this book and it does want me want to read the second book when it comes out. You want to know how the characters will develop as their story progresses. I look forward to see what will happen next.
Over all I'd would say reading the paperback book would be better than listening to this one. I pray that Brent Weeks or his publisher will choose someone else to read the next book to follow.
my first audio book. I enjoyed this book very much. Only thing that bugged me was if a chapter changes focus from one character to another character that was else where in the story, it seemed that the pause or "change" over was a little short, but over all I adapted well to this.
The story moves very well, some spots are little slow, but its few. The plot leaves you wondering whats going to happen next. I would recommend this book and look forward to the others when released (the last audio book hasn't been released when I wrote this review)
