Our founding fathers worked hard to ensure that a small group of wealthy people would never dominate this country. Thomas Jefferson believed that our very democracy depends upon our ability to play referee to the game of business, protecting labor and the public good. But over the last 25 years, we've witnessed an undeclared war against the middle class.

    "The Modern Thomas Paine"
    Overall

Thom Hartmann has the clearest, most concise voice of common sense in the 20th and 21st centuries. With brilliantly researched facts, a passion for conveying information, an "easy read" writing style and a huge dose of not so common common sense makes this book a must read for anyone who is discouraged and wondering how things went this far in the U. S. Thom Hartmann is the Thomas Paine of our age. He cuts through the political doublespeak and media catch phrases to give us a masterful portrayal of what has happened to the majority of Americans over the last 30 years. Some of our current presidential contenders would do well to read this book and put some of his suggestions into practice.

Join former lawman turned rancher Britt MacMasters and his son Chad as they begin a new life for themselves in Clearmont, Wyoming. But Britt's past returns to haunt him, as one of the toughest outlaw gangs in the west is headed towards Clearmont for revenge. A rousing 15-episode Western adventure series that keeps true to its roots.

I've heard loads of audio dramas from different groups, and this was one of my favorites! Powder River takes us back, with full cast and sound effects and awesome music, to 1875 Clearmont Wyoming. The plots are compeling, the characters quite believable, and the sound effects and music only add to the listener's enjoyment of these tales. Do yourself a favor and buy this set of shows! What a bang for your buck.
I heard Return to Powder River and Powder River season 3 on XM as well. THey were even better! If you have the extra cash, grab them too.

Dr. Peter Blood is arrested and sentenced to hang for treating a wounded rebel. Instead of death, he is sent to Barbados as a slave. When the Spanish attack the port city of Bridgetown, he and his fellow slaves capture the Spanish ship and set out to sea, where he becomes the notorious pirate Captain Blood.

I don't watch tv anymore, I listen to audio theater as much as possible. I've heard literally hundreds of dramas of various gnnres done by several different companies. Captain blood was certainly one of the most gripping and involving tales it has ever been my pleasure to hear. First, the story is a good one whether you read it or listen to it, but this adaptation of the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. The acting, the sound effects and the music all combine to make this the definitive version of this story. 5 stars from me.
