"Awful....no storyline"
The story is about sisters that are virtuous and the men who are the exact opposite of that virtue. I thought that sounded like an interesting concept but, it was written like a horny high schooler and that should say a lot.
It was written in such an over exaggerated way that it became silly and I was embarrassed for the writer. I enjoy erotica with any good romance but, there needs to be a stroryline. Not just I am going to defile her for the fun of it and going over and over in his mind what he would do to her meanwhile, the heroine is ridiculous along with all her sisters.
For awhile i wondered if the author was going for a pride and prejudice type of action with 5 very different sisters. Unfortunately, that was as not the case.
All of them.
Honestly, this book was so bad I didn't even finish listening to it. Three quarters through and I just couldn't take it anymore.
"Very Entertaining listen"
The first book in the Mortal Instruments, City of Bones, I read because I heard a movie is being made about the books. I rarely read young adult books and this just reminded me why...whiny characters, poor choices, and more whining. The book does pick up about half way threw it and ended with me wanting to know what happens next. I decided to try a audible book and I am really glad I did. I enjoyed the second book. The characters grew and i developed a hope that they would make it out of adventures together.
I compare it to Twilight for several reasons. One there is a love triangle. Even if it involves a 16 yr old girl who stays confused. Sound familiar? This book has angels, demons, vampires, werewolves, and a Sorcerer. The characters have lots of angst over their relationships.
My favorite character by far is Jace. I love his witty remarks. I love his loyalty even when others doubt him. He is the main reason I continued to read the next book.
There is a war in the heavens......will Love conquer all and defeat evil?
I think this book is fine for teenagers to read and will probably be a blockbuster when it comes out at the movies. Adult conversation is rare and at times It was hard for me not to forget that teens live for drama and if not their drama a friends drama.
"Take a ride with Charley Davidson"
It had a total new concept for a Heroine. She is the grim reaper. She can speak to ghost. Which is most helpful when her uncle Bob needs help solving a murder involving 4 lawyers. This is the first of the series and the beginning does a great job of giving you back ground info about our main character and her ghostly lover. Which will come full circle by the end of this book. Hang on and get ready for a ride thats funny, sexy, and edgy.
It has just put the icing on the cake that paranormal romance can be fun or serious, sensual sexy or geeky, mysterious and scary and it can compete with all other types of fiction! When Frese moves into her apartment and the time they spend together in her room :)
Yes, she does. She gives us snippets of info that is just enough to keep us on the edge waiting to find out more. For instance we know "mr Bad" can't be exactly how she imagines him there has to be more.....and there is.....but, I won't give spoiler away.
The narrator Lorelei King does a great job of giving each character their own essence. I would read anything she narrates and safely assume she would do a great job.
I think this is the beginning of a great new series. I can't wait to see where the relationship will go between Charlie and Frese. I would put this on my list of new authors to try. And finding an author that you love is better than ice cream!!
"Kushiels Dart missed Board for me"
Yes, the first half of the book. There was just to much going on and too many characters to keep up with. I would rewind and relisten but, names were hard to pronounce and it honestly, didn't seem to move into action or any type of stroyline that had me hooked.
No, I was so surprised because there are so many who loved this book. During the first half I just kept telling myself to hang in there because many said It does start off slowly. Well, even though it did pick up around the middle with some intrigue it was just like pulling a boulder around trying to stay interested.
Yes, the narration was ok.....
I would not read a sequel.
"Get ready to fallen Love with dead men!"
I would listen to this book again in a heartbeat. I had this on my list to read then joined audio and decided to listen while I painted my kitchen. My 21 yr old daughter helped and we laughed so hard that we were sad when we were done painting and hadn't finished the book.
Well, I would compare it to Queen Betsy in the first 3 or 4 books that were so funny. She just has a running dialogue in her head that cracks me up and actually reminds me of how i think at times. She isn't so serious.
This was the first book I had ever heard her read and I was blown away by her performance. She picked up not only mood ,tone, accents but she went from one character to another seamlessly! Bravo Ms. Ronconi!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!
I highly recommend any of Molly Harpers audio books. I actually prefer to listen to her books because of Amanda Ronconi's performance of the characters. Enjoy this light paranormal romance.
"Always Fun and romantic"
I put it up there with my favorites. The story is flirty, funny and romantic. Its a great strory to listen to as you work in the yard , clean house, or crafts.
Well, paranormal and sci-fi adventures are kind of new subject matter for me. Considering I've been reading romance and who dun its since I was 12 yrs old I've only been reading this genre for 2 or 3 yrs. It has me hook line and sinker. I enjoy reading about things that are impossible but, the magic happens when an author makes it seem perfectly reasonable that it could happen. Thats what Molly Harper does in each and every book. My favorite character was Mo and her silly antics at the restaurant she worked at.
As I said she has such a sense of humor and perfect timing with said humor that I've found myself laughing out loud at her hero's and heroines. Her since of romance is wonderful. None of that I love him this minute I hate him the next...uuughhh. Her characters tend to build a relationship to the boiling point and the WHAM....your boiling right along at a nice simmer too! lol.....I loved the scene when he was waiting for her in wolf form and ended up naked in front of the fire place.....
I LOVE this narrator. The was she is able to change the tone, accent, and mood of the characters had me looking for anything else she has narrated before. She is wonder I strongly suggest giving her a try.It would be very easy to listen to this in one day.
If you like a range of paranormal romance this book will be right up your ally. Its not a heavy duty Sci-fi like Game of Thrones. It's just a wonderful read that you will want to listen to again and keep up with what every Molly Harper has coming out next. Set back and enjoy ;).
