I was really shocked at how good this book really is. Let me say this first, I totally understand why there are so many bad reviews; however, actually the book is not bad... just Kiera (the main female character) is misunderstood.
Quick summary: Kiera is originally with Denny and they move into Kellan's, Denny's friend, house. Denny goes away on a work trip and Kiera starts an emotional affair with Kellan. Kiera and Denny break up and then Kiera sleeps with Kellan. Denny comes back and Kiera goes back to Denny, but wants to maintain the relationship with Kellan as well.
Ok... now what make this book really shine are the characters. Each one is so unique, even down to the members of Kellan's band. Griffin was just great. Kellan is what you would call a "beautiful disaster" and Kiera is like his poison. Kellan actually falls in love with Kiera and throughout the whole book Kellan is trying to get Kiera to basically choose him. I found myself taking Kellan side on most everything that happen throughout the book. I really liked it when Kellan actually called Kiera a whore. That was awesome... !!!
Now, Kiera, even though I totally agreed with Kellan throughtout the book, I felt Kiera was seriously misunderstood. She was in love with Denny but Kellan was like her soul mate or whatever... so she was torn between two guys. I get it somewhat... She didn't want to hurt Denny, I got that... but Kiera was seriously doing some dirt!!!! I found it funny how she always got away with it and Kellan and Denny loved her even more.
I have to say "The slap heard around the bar" chapter was the best intense love/hate fight chapter I have ever read/listen to.... AWESOMENESS!!!!
This was my first Ross narration. I actually enjoyed her narration. She was very good with speeding up and slowing down as the drama and action built. I thought she really expressed Kiera the best, but not so bad with Kellan either. I like when the narrator actually change their voice to show different characters, and I think Ross did well, especially when Kiera, Kellan and Denny was all in one scene. Switching from Aussie Denny to laid back rocker Kellan to whinny Kiera was done really well.
This is a buy/credit. I would do either one. I would buy if you plan to buy the second one too... this will leave you wanting more. If you plan to wait for credits then, it’s a wait... Well worth it.
Wow... these books get better and better. I personally love m/m romance, but this was more of a m/m/f romance... which are usually not done right, because if three people are going to be in a relationship... why do all three people always have to be together at the same time... that is just not realistic... but Kit has figured it out... especially about the m/m relationship in a threesome...
This was perfect... Ace and Kane had to have a relationship of their own to fully be secure in the threesome... It's like each person had to have a solid relationship with each other... which totally made this work... I loved it..
This books are graphic, raw and down right smexy!!! So enjoyable...
Worth a credit or sale...b/c this book is pretty pricey!
Narration...of course was Amayz!
Seriously, another Matter of Times book!!!! Ok.. let me calm my nerves!!! I was so not expecting this!!!
Ok.. I absolutely love the Matter of Times series... and I though Duncan and Aaron's book was the last...but Wowza!!! This was just sooo... amazing... I loved the relationship between Miro and Ian!!!
It was so well done... I mean how could Ian not be in love with Miro the way he was always touchy feely with him...it was so obvious... I love how the reader totally knows these two are in love, but the characters have yet to discover their own feelings... Calmes is a genius in letting the reader know "of course these two are meant for each other" without actually telling you and letting the story unfold... It was great!
Plus.. we get to see Sam Cage in action! Love that... It was like all the characters we love came back in either a scene or a cameo... (Duncan, Aaron, Jory and the Cage kids) Plus the minivan!!!! LOL... AWESOME!!!
So worth a credit, buy or sale... I must have if you have invested in the Matter of Times series.
Narration was great... Loved Miro's voice!
You know what... I love everything Mary Calmes write...well just about.. Her paranormal stories are just as good as her non-paranormal books... I loved how this book started.. I was like... how is this paranormal...then bam! The wolves come out! This was simply great. The relationship between the two main characters was extremely well written, and it only help add to the drama when everything started happening... Loved it!
Mary Calmes is one of the top m/m romance writers so, yeah.. so worth a credit, buy or sale.
Narration was awesome!
I found my self unable to put this book down for some reason. It was awesome... basic marriage of convenience story, but man... I totally loved this one! I found my self laughing out loud at moments and getting just as angry as the characters when unfortunate stuff would happen.... but the HEA was awesome!!! Well worth a credit or sale.
Narration was pretty good too!
I didn't like this one as much as I enjoyed book 1. The heroine left! WTF!!! Why leave when you have all these alpha men surrounding you for protection... I mean... I get it..she wanted to protect her guy...but c'mon!
Anyway.. this was still a good listen. The smexy time was simply great... the action and adventure was not half bad either.
Narration... well I hate dual narration...but other than that.. I was ok... nothing to complain about...
Worth a credit or sale!
Katie Reus books are always enjoyable. This is the first book in the Sin City series, about the Serafina Hotel and it's employees. I like it. Very basic damsel in distress story, but the alpha maleness is what makes this story stand out. So smexy!
Great for a quick listen/read!
Narration was great... no complaints here... Great credit, or sale.
This was an enjoyable listen. Great m/m romance of young college love... One awkward violinist, who forms a weird and secretive friendship with a football jock, slowly grows into a relationship. I enjoyed it.
Well worth a credit or a sale.
Narration was pretty good too!
Wow! I totally loved this book! I can't hardly wait to listen to the rest of the THIRDS... Please Audible....hurry up and get this entire series on here!
I have to admit...starting out... I thought this was going to be a long drawn out boring book, half-way at an attempt to mix m/m romance with paranormal suspense...but NOPE! What I got was a complete emotional roller coaster! I totally fell in love with every single character... to included the relationships among Destructive Delta (the THIRDS team).
I wish there was a bit more smexy time...but the smexy time added to the story...the story didn't revolve around it... which is always a plus....
The side relationship with Dex's brother and Sloane's BFF...well now... that is going to be one interesting book! Oh let's not forget the two silent team members... Trust me...once you listen you will definitely know what I am talking about.
All in all this book was great. Dex was a cop, who got transferred to the THIRDS because he testified against his crooked partner. Fortunately for him, his brother and "dad" are members of this new shifter team of cops. Dex is cooky and off the wall with his antics but he is a great cop... and Sloane well...he comes off as this tough shifter team leader, but he was simply a man trying to cope with the loss of his lover. I loved the build up and angsty moments between Dex and Sloane...
Hopefully book 2 will flesh out their relationship a bit more...
So worth a credit or sale... Narration was good..not great...but good!
OMG! Why, oh Why did the narration change for book 2! Finally I fall in love with a dual narration...which I usually hate.. and them bam! Book 2 has the worst narration ever... I can't even tell who is talking half the time. Such a waste too...because this series is so good... it should be a crime... but man... the narration was just horrible... I seriously hope Audible goes back to their narration table and get the two that did book 1 to lock in for the rest of this series... OMG! Do disappointed...
I have no idea what actually happen... I skipped here and there...Had to rewind just to figure out who said what! Horrible...
Now, since I have read the actual book, I already know that Nick comes back and the ending was superb... another baby on board... Nick's sister has some drama with Nick's enemy...I mean I was a great read...but narration.. HORRIBLE!!!
Worth a sale... don't buy or credit...you will be disappointed.
This was super good...but just not on the same level as Jake and Tru's story. I honestly think it was the narration... If maybe just one narrator would have read this, I could stay in character better. IDK... plus the whole I want you so bad, but no, your a whore thing...was a bit much in the beginning... Plus we all know Tom as the horn dog...but in this, he was just so not Tom... Like I said...it was good...but not great..
Definitely worth a credit, but maybe not a buy... yes to sale...most definitely...
