Book store nation, in the history of mankind there has never been a greater country than America. You could say we're the number one nation at being the best at greatness. But as perfect as America is in every single way, America is broken! And we can't exchange it because we're 236 years past the 30-day return window. Look around - we don't make anything anymore, we've mortgaged our future to China, and the Apologist-in-Chief goes on world tours just to bow before foreign leaders.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

If you liked the movie Gravity, you'll like this book. It's full of well thought-out science-fiction and every step of the way the things that happen in the book feel very plausible, as if they could be happening in a few years time. On top of that, the book is funny, with tense moments, and a solid story. Well worth your time and money.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

    Story

The story is great, and most of the narration is superb (with ambient sounds to set the scene, and different voice actors). For some reason not all of the story was narrated by the voice actors (instead leaving those parts to the main narrator), which is somewhat confusing, and definitely a missed opportunity.

Nevertheless, a great book, and a good performance by the narrators.

The conclusion of the Mistborn trilogy fulfills all the promise of the first two books. Revelations abound, connections rooted in early chapters of the series click into place, and surprises, as satisfying as they are stunning, blossom like fireworks to dazzle and delight. It all leads up to a finale unmatched for originality and audacity that will leave listeners shaking their heads in wonder, as if awaking from an amazing dream.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Hero of Ages to be better than the print version?

The narration is good, and to me it does add some extra flavor to the story, but I don't know that is necessarily true for everyone.

What did you like best about this story?

The conclusion of the series was great, I really liked the ending, which neatly ties up all the loose ends left by the earlier books.

If you could sum up The Night Circus in three words, what would they be?

    Contemporary enchanting mystery

What other book might you compare The Night Circus to and why?

Neverwhere, in that it is set in a world close to ours, yet still separate from it.

What about Jim Dale’s performance did you like?

His voice is amazing, his performance reminds me of a grandfather reading a story, while at the same time somehow sounding like he is recounting history. Amazing.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A circus in black and white

    Any additional comments?

The story is not entirely chronological, which you might not notice right away when it is narrated. This is not a problem though, as the sections set
