"Horrible Narration"
What happened to Dick Hill? This guy Peter Giles is horrible. Constantly emphasizing the wrong words in the sentence. Why oh why was this guy hired?
"Caution! The narrator will put you to sleep."
J. D. Jackson reads so slowly I felt myself age as I listened. This audiobook ranks at the bottom of my list.
Couldn't make it to the ending. I'm old and don't have that much time to waste.
Jackson should listen to Gerald Doyle to learn how to read an audiobook.
Heavens no!
Please don't use this narrator again.
"Classic Elmore Leonard with fantastic narration."
Right up at the top of all my Audible experiences.
When he took the Rolls Royce to visit his daughter.
I know that I've heard Frank Muller before but this time it was memorable. His command of accents, syntax and nuance are just unbeatable.
Oh, the laughs just kept coming.
I was extremely sad when it ended.
"Barely Audible"
Well, I thought the purchase of this book would be a no-brainer but I was wrong. I had heard Christopher Hitchens on various interview shows and found him quite entertaining but hearing him read his own book was a disaster. I shouldn't say "hearing him read" because that's not the experience. "Trying to hear him" would be more like it. A common problem with non-professional narrators. He reads too fast, swallows the end of sentences (and phrases) and the level is all over the map. The audio engineer must have gone nuts. I was very disappointed. Please don't make the same mistake.
