First let me just say that I will miss Professor Emerson. I loved this book I loved this couple and I loved the way SR wrote it how the book just flowed. Julianne was afraid to have a baby because she want wants to complete her studies she had a really good heart because I would have slapped Krista and Natalie for the things they did and the Professor did his best to get away from his past he was the man that said "don't let the glasses and the bowtie fool you" I loved how much he changed his manwhoring ways he wanted to be a better person. This book made me laugh and cry this was a perfect end to this series. I will miss the bowtie wearing Professor Emerson
I can't believe I am writing this, but this is my first Lorelei James book. Amery is living in Denver while running her own graphic design business. She grew up in a small town and came from a very Christian family that caused her to grow up being ashamed of anything sexual. Her relationship with her parents now is strained at best, but she has started to live her life how she wants and not how they approve. After her friend gets attacked, Amery agrees to attend some self defense classes with her but instead of being an observer, she ends up being forced to participate. There she meets the sexy and mysterious owner of the Dojo, Ronin Black. Ronin and Amery are instantly drawn to each other, and feel a pull between them like they have never felt before. Ronin and Amery begin seeing each other, and Amery quickly figures out that there is so much more to Ronin than meets the eye. He has a darkness to him and desires that she has only scratched the surface of. Amery is introduced to Ronin's world of bondage, and gives herself over to him while opening up herself like never before. But Amery still feels as though Ronin is holding himself back from her and that he is hiding things from her. I really liked Ronin. I thought that he was extremely sexy, athletic, and very intriguing. I liked how raw and passionate he was, but that he could also be tender and gentle. There was so much more to him than meets the eye, and it really feels like we just barely scratch the surface with him in this book. I had a lot of issues with Amery first she let this man tie her up with scarves and a belt but when he uses rope she has a fit and the pointless arguments. Her friends Chazz and Emmylou I would have told them to but out sooner then she did, and she was too naïve for me she should have asked questions, but she didn't. Overall this was a good book I just had problems with Amery and her running dialogue in her head.
I have loved John Matthew since book one. I love this series. John has wanted Xhex since the first time he has met her. Lover Mine picks up a few weeks after Lover Avenged left off were Lash kidnapped Xhex in this book Lash has become sick and twisted and his Omega father has had enough of him. Lash is holding Xhex in a brownstone bound by a magical spell. She is trapped in a bedroom invisible to all except Lash. She is determined to fight him with everything she has in hopes of finding a way out or until the brotherhood finds her. Lash's purpose for abducting Xhex is vengeance. Xhex killed his lover and he plans to take his revenge on her slowly and painfully. But Xhex puts up a vicious fight and he finds himself falling for her in his sick sadistic way. John is hell bent on getting her back he realizes that he is in love with her. He is not sure if she is alive or dead but he is determined to bring her home one way or another. Know one knows his feelings for Xhex his boys has some idea, but he doesn't ask the brothers for help finding her. What I liked about this book was that John would do anything to get her back I also liked how the book went back to Xhex's birth and how Darius and Tohr helped her mother No'One which was later revealed, after she was taken by a sympathy and how after her birth her mother killed herself. The book also goes into the complicated relationship between Qhuinn and Blay they once had a bond of friendship since before their transition. But this relationship is complicated by Blay's feelings for Qhuinn that go far beyond friendship. He has come to terms with the fact that he is gay and he is in love with Qhuinn. Qhuinn has always been promiscuous even knowing on some level how hurtful it is for Blay. But, there may be reasons for why Qhuinn behaves the way he does. When Qhuinn's cousin Saxton asks Blay out on a date, Qhuinn's protectiveness toward Blay kicks into high gear, claiming he doesn't want Blay to be hurt by Saxton. In all honestly though, jealously is at the root of his behavior. I think that in some ways Qhuinn is confused he wants Blay and doesn't know how to tell him he's jealous and doesn't want him to be with anyone else at the same time he doesn't him. Blay for his part is tired of waiting sitting by watching Qhuinn the man whore stick anything moving but him so he decides it's time to move on. John also mends his relationship with Tohr, which I was glad Tohr has been following John making sure that he was safe. I am so glad that this book had a happy ending and I am looking forward to continuing this series although for some reason the next book isn't about one of the brother's which is making me a little iffy about.
For some reason I didn't think that I would like this book so much and I wanted to skip it. I am glad that I didn't I loved this book to me it was better than the last one. Rev who is part vamp and part sympath was a drug dealing pimp who dressed in fur duster and drove a Bentley protected those around him he killed his step father for years of beating his mother he also protected his sister never wanting her to find out that he was a sympathy. Ehlena who was a nurse at Haver's clinic was from a family of worth who had to work to pay for her father's med's and treatment for a mental disease who's health was stolen by his own family member. I loved Ehlena, who was strong and beautiful. The perfect match for Rehvenge who we learn in this book is very deserving of an awesome mate. This book was full of action and drama. First Wrath who was out fighting alone lying to Beth and losing his sight and how he deals with it. Second Tohr who realized that he had to somehow move on. Tohr finally saw what he did not only to John but how it effected the brothers as well. Third John who turned into a manwhore after having sex with Xhex he also starts drinking to cope with so much lost I really felt bad for him and I am looking forward to reading the next book. I really like Xhex although I didn't like what she did to John, but I understood why she did it her life hasn't been easy. The sympathy Queen was crazy and Lash was even crazier and I can't wait to read the next book to find out what John does to him. I am glad that Rev got his HEA and I was glad to see the all of the brother's were back together and I am looking forward to reading the next book.
I love this series I didn't like this book as much as I liked the previous once. Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. Problem was Phury sacrificed his self for everyone he cutoff his own foot to safe his Twin Zsadist from the mistress who enslaved him he agreed to be the Primale of the Chosen, because V fell in love with Jane and didn't want to do it. What I dislike the most about this book was the self loathing that Phury went never seeing the good in him self never believing that he was good enough it got old and tiring to the point that I had to stop listening to it at times. I liked Cormia who was the Chosen first mate she was willing to do what she had to do for the good of her race, but she didn't have her own mind and she wanted to be her own person. I liked the fact that she learned to speak up for herself and I liked her friendship with John. I did like the fact that this book had a lot of things going on Blay told Qhinn how he felt, Qhinn cut Lashes throat when he attacked John in the shower although John stood up for him self. Phury OD on heroin from the wait of all the things on his shoulders, which was a good thing because it made him self things different. For me this book would have been a lot better if the author would have pulled back on some of the self loathing. I was also glad that Torh was found. I look forward to reading or listening to the rest of this series.
I love this series and I was really looking forward to listening to this book. Vishous the son of the Bloodletter and the Scribe Virgin who gave him to his father when he was a baby. He was not only the victim of brutality, at the he inflicted it on others as well. His scars are physical, mental and emotional. I felt so bad for him. Vishous is also the carrier of a power that he considers to be a curse. One of his hands is deadly to anyone it touches. He must always keep it gloved and hidden. I was also happy that John made it through his transition but, I was sad that he is still suffering from a past attack. Dr. Jane Whitcomb is a gifted surgeon, and her life is her work. That changes drastically, however, on the night that Vishous is brought into her operating room with a mortal injury. Jane is able to save Vishous, but she has to enter his vampire world in order to do so. The minds of the other humans at the hospital can be erased, but Jane is too involved. I think that Jane is good for him she had a smart mouth and she accepted V and with her he is able to find love. Jane is willing to explore his need for physical pain that no one else has understood. But happiness is still out of his reach. Because of his ancestry, Vishous is expected to take on the role of the Primale of the Chosen. His job is to further the Brotherhood and the vampire species by procreating with the Chosen females. The only way he can escape this fate is if one of his brothers is willing to go in his place. And even if Vishous is able to avoid his duties as the Primale which Phury volunteers for to get away from Bella and I think to give his life some meaning which I will find out in the next book. I also liked that V finally told Butch how he felt and they way they did it was very heart felt. This book was not as good as the last one but I still gave it 5 star because I love this series and this book had me laughing and crying. I also like how Z is taking time with John and talking to him and that he gave him Darius's book. I can't wait to listen to Phury and the rest of the rap music listening brothers.
I love this series. In the beginning of this book I disliked Marissa she was too naïve I mean she is over 300 years old and a virgin who had never worn pants I am so glad she grew a backbone. Butch has been in love with Marissa since the first time he met her she was Wraths shellan who he had never taken. Butch touches something deep inside her and only her feelings of unworthiness combined with her fear that if she feeds from Butch she will kill him, keep her from falling into the arms of the human who has touched her in these unknown ways. Her relationship with her brother has fallen apart because of her feelings for a human. Her brother is a doctor and has placed Marissa on a pedestal he in unable to forgive her when she falls in love with a human. Butch runs into a situation where he chooses to save a pre-transition vampire from the lessers who are attacking him. He is captured and tortured by the lessers. When the Omega finds out who Butch is he inserts an evil part of himself into Butch. Now only Marissa, the Brotherhood and the Scribe Virgin may be able to save him. But even with the changes in his body he is determined to fight and serve the ones he trusts and loves. Butch as it turns out is a cousin to Wrath therefore he can turn into a vampire hear is where the story gets weird he is part lesser and part vampire. Vishous was in this book a great deal and helps Butch with the change We also discover why there is the special bond between Butch and the brother Vishous. I felt for Vishous who saw Butch as 'his', not in a sexual way, but in a brotherly love kind of way. Though he is happy for Butch, he can't help but feel more lonely than ever. It was also good to see John Matthews and the other pre-transition warriors, become friends and allowing for this series to go beyond the main brotherhood characters I also liked that John stood up for himself against Lash, but John seems so lost and I was glad that Wrath stepped in to help him. I am looking forward to reading the next book about V and his BDSM.
I loved this book I love reading Shayla Black and this series and I am so glad that this book was better than the last one. I loved Callie's spunk and her sassy mouth. Mitchell Thorpe, owner of Dominion, was introduced to us in previous Wicked Lover books. He was the hard intense Dom who never took anything from anyone. His word was law in Dominion, and he did take shit from anyone he hit all the right buttons for me. He was always a mystery. A mystery that always had you thinking in the back of your mind, "what is his deal?" Thorpe was always the man in the background, a gorgeous man who was unreachable, unattached, and always in control. A past relationship killed his spirit, and now he doesn't believe he is good enough, tender enough to care for the one woman that he's wanted by his side since the first time he laid eyes on her. Sean Kirkpatrick, the newest Dom in town, has his sights set on the sub that Thorpe has sworn to protect. He's collared her, made her his, but there is more to him. He is a mystery himself. Sean has secrets, secrets that could destroy his future with his "lovely." In most ways, Sean is the opposite of Thorpe. Sean is tender, more gentle. He is not at all afraid to share his feelings with the woman he loves. Callie's devastating past has prevented her from being truly happy. She wants nothing more than to stay in one place and give her all to her Sir, but something is holding her back.
The best part was seeing these two men gently warm up to one another, especially with such strong personalities. The love that they share for Callie is so incredibly beautiful, and the fact that they can put aside their feelings, step outside of their comfort zone and just be what she needs is, is my definition of the perfect Dom. I was so glad that this book was better than the last one and that this series is back on track for me and I can't wait until the next one.
This was my first time reading this author. This story was pretty good it reminded me of a few other series that I loved only this one a little something extra my only dislike was Nora was always in her head about what she shouldn't like and so forth. Nora is an 18 year old virgin who finds herself abducted and taken to an island by a mysterious stranger. The man who has taken her is captivating he is beyond handsome, wealthy, worldly, confident, dangerous, and controlling. Julian who is an arms dealer was dark and dangerous. Julian meets Nora in a bar and she reminds him of a childhood friend he becomes obsessed with Nora and he had to have her. Nora is not a weak character. She has some fight in her a fight to be free a fight to go home. Julian uses his seduction and his dark erotic ways to make Nora love him and to be the masochists to his sadists ways and she loved all of it. The sex scenes were hot. I loved how she learned to be patient and start thinking of ways to pass time and how she learned to be friends with Beth. I am most certainly looking forward to the next installment. I was happy that it didn't stick me with a cliffhanger but it definitely left me knowing there is more to come.
I really enjoyed it this book and I can't wait to read the next book.
" You Are Mine Nora"
I loved Connor and Lyric story. Sooo good. Lyric's wild antics and Connor's. Connor is the last of his friends to remain single. He has sat back and watched and laughed as every one of them has fallen like a rock for their wives. When he gets assigned to be Lyric Jones' bodyguard, he wants nothing to do with the rock star. It's dislike at first sight for them both, except for the huge spark between them.
Lyric doesn't understand why she needs a bodyguard when she already has two of them. Her record company is insistent that there are threats being made against her, and they want to protect her.
Once these two are stuck together, the sparks fly and they begin to see a little deeper into each other.
