Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

    If there is a recent book for teens that should cross over to their parents, this is it. A story that keeps you wired to the anxiety of Germany in WWII. A strong story that has its light moments and touching points. One of only two 5 star across the board reviews I have ever given.

    If you love Margaret Atwood, you will like this. If you don't or have never read her, beware. This is a disturbing and difficult story for the Atwood Newbie. For those of us who follow her, it is another amazing work.

    Maybe I just thought he was a funnier guy. Is he interesting? I guess. Is he self-absorbed? Absolutely. A little more Number Two, Mike Meyers, SNL and a little less Poor me - my parents divorced, I was scared, I like politics would have been easier to listen to. I forced myself through this audio because I kept hoping it would pay off. No dice.

    Loved listening to Tina tell her story herself. Sometimes the story of her life bogged a bit - weren't we all misunderstood teen losers? But there are many funny lines that only she could tell. Her reading made it clear that she knew you were listening to an audio book, but it was kind of disheartening how many times she referred to a pdf that supposedly came with the book that I couldn't access.

    Is it a great book? Yes. Would I have enjoyed actually reading it? Yes. Is it better to listen to it? ABSOLUTELY.
    Since I am from Minnesota, I am not afforded the opportunity to hear the slower and melodic pacing of a Mississippi accent. (and the upper reaches of the Mississippi River in St Paul just doesn't count.) Listening to this story in the beautiful voices of the three narrators brought the story to life in an unexpected way. Far more meaningful than if I had read it using the midwestern version of a Mississippi accent in my own head.
    I have since listened to other audible titles and have yet to find a more absorbing marriage of narrators and story than The Help.
