I like Steve Martin, didn't see him until later in his career. I thought this book would give me a glimpse into his background. Instead it gave me a glimpse into Morris Walker. Morris kssps stating in the book how he isn't really interested in the wealth that Steve has earned but all he talks about is the amount of money Steve Martin makes.. sounds like sour grapes to me.
I think that Morris could have written a book about his young life with Steve and leave it at that, or maybe just his life and that he happened to have Steve as a childhood friend. Or even co-wrote one with Steve Martin.
After listening to this book, I wanted to know more about Morris and his wife, how they met, what they did as far as performers. That would have been much more interesting. It's obvious he loves her very much.
I guess I just don't know the reason Morris wrote this book, but I will encourage anyone to read Steve Martin's book: 'Born Standing Up'. I have really enjoyed Steve's other books here on Audible too.
This is one of those books that never ages and it will help others that need the instructions to change their lives.
The development of the characters and the flow of ths story.
I liked how she changed her voice for the characters without trying to sound like a man.
I really liked how Sherryl Woods has brought in the 2nd set of Sweet Magnolias and what is taking place in their lives. Finding out how Sarah and Trevor finally made a life even though there were hurdles. Working through forgiveness etc.
Trevor because he wasn't giving up on Sarah.
Someone who could handle the male voices without making them all sound slow and fake, and I did like how she made Rory Sue's voice work.
I think there is a follow-up book and that should complete the series.
I sometimes like a male voice when the man seems to be the main character.
I've really been enjoying Sherryl Woods Chesapeake Shore stores and was excited that Mick and Megan were finally going to remarry. I just didn't like the continued lack of trust especialy on Megan's part. If she trusted Mick enough to say yes to his proposal then Connor should not have been allowed to control the situation by his self-centered attitude.
She's been doing the series and the consistancy of her doing the characters really adds to the interpretation.
I really liked how Mick went all out to show Megan he had changed. Already having the Inn reserved for thier wedding was very touching.
