  • So Good They Can't Ignore You: Why Skills Trump Passion in the Quest for Work You Love

    Story

In this eye-opening account, Cal Newport debunks the long-held belief that "follow your passion" is good advice. Not only is the cliché flawed - preexisting passions are rare and have little to do with how most people end up loving their work - but it can also be dangerous, leading to anxiety and chronic job hopping. After making his case against passion, Newport sets out on a quest to discover the reality of how people end up loving what they do.

In a constantly changing, hyper-competitive world, leadership is more important than ever. Yet few people have what it takes to inspire, develop, and guide others. In this presentation, Robin Sharma shares the leadership lessons that he gives to clients such as Nike, Microsoft, and NASA.

What would have made Extraordinary Leadership better?

I have been reading/listening to the same concepts for 10 years. We all need to keep hearing them over and over so that we do not take our eyes off the ball; he does a fantastic job at it, he is terrific. I would argue that we need more "how to" guides outlining proven concepts that can help you achieve results.

What did you like best about this story?

Not a story per say, I love his deliverance, I could listen to Robin for days; his deliverance energizes me.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrator?

no one. He does a terrific job.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Yes indeed.
