One of the best selling History titles of 2009. Examining the Second World War on every front, Andrew Roberts asks whether, with a different decision-making process and a different strategy, Hitler’s Axis might even have won. Were those German generals who blamed everything on Hitler after the war correct, or were they merely scapegoating their former Führer once he was safely beyond defending himself?

I am a 67 yr old history buff. I have read many WWII histories, but none as complete as the Storm of War. I especially enjoyed the indepth coverage of "the Easten Front". No one has ever covered it better. Plus, the reader does a fantastic job. He is able to hold your interest through out. Very well done & 5 Stars is my honest vote. War history buffs should not miss this one. John

He was the former marketing president for Tri-Star Pictures before becoming a writer of novels and screenplays.

David Rosenfelt's Novels are always very enjoyable audio Books, especially with this crowd of fun characters. I own all of David's recent Books and all have been well the effort & expense. Not all of David's Books entail the rascally attorney Andy Carpender & company but here are Andy's loveable team mates at their best. Rosenfelt spins an excellent yarn and he has a very indebth grasp of our legal system, amazing even. For an enjoyable teeth tightening listen you could not go wrong with Rosenfelt's latest offering. A teriffic blend of humor, legal masinations & a "who done it" all in one package. John Wagner, Professional Grandpa

But a bombing run in his B-24 over Hamburg changed his life forever. Shot down by German fire, he was reported killed in action, but a German doctor saved his life and rebuilt his face. I am a very big fan & customer of Audible. My normal listen is usually history and/or science. I do not give out many five star reviews, this is one of my few exceptionss. While the Book is fiction the characters seem real. This author is in touch with the human heart and life's ups and downs. The narriation is just great and was the real reason I purchased this Book. Gene Engene is very good but, at his best in this very easy on the ears yarn. This book was a very pleasent & clean bred American novel. Well worth a listen! John, Ohio Grandpa

All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

I really enjoyed thiss offering by Stephen King. While he is not my favorite author people my age, who danced to many songs by "The Platters" may enjoy this Book as much as I. While not a War Protester (an exMarine of the era) I do remember the type well. King manages to catch the times of the late 60's very well. Some reviewers did not appreciate the music, I sure did. It took me back to my 1st love, a very nice red headed Irish girl, still a very good person. Perhaps I'll try a few more of King's novels, but not the far out spookie ones. I prefer more real history & this is a creditable late 60's offering. John T. Wagner, Ohio

With The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors and Ship of Ghosts, James D. Hornfischer created essential and enduring narratives about America’s World War II Navy, works of unique immediacy distinguished by rich portraits of ordinary men in extremis and exclusive new information. Now he does the same for the deadliest, most pivotal naval campaign of the Pacific war: Guadalcanal.

As a very interested WWll Hobbyist this Book was a true eye opener. This is the 1st Book I have ever seen that portrayed the valliant actions of our Sailors in "Ship Surface action & I have read many WWll Books. Any WWll History buff would do no better than yo give this Book a listen. Great reading helps do justice to the subject matter. I had always believed Ship Surface actions to have been trumped by Fast Carriers. I was sure wrong. As an exMarine I tip my hat to the author, the reader & escecially the Sailors, Brave Men all! Don't miss this one! John T. Wagner, Ohio

Marion and Shiva Stone are twin brothers born of a secret union between a beautiful Indian nun and a brash British surgeon at a mission hospital in Addis Ababa. Orphaned by their mother's death in childbirth and their father's disappearance, bound together by a preternatural connection and a shared fascination with medicine, the twins come of age as Ethiopia hovers on the brink of revolution. Yet it will be love, not politics - their passion for the same woman - that will tear them apart.

I have never rated any of my many Books as a 5 Star, this one I do. Mr. Verghese has to have tasted a fukk measure of life's ups & downs or he could never had penned words that so parraled Human Nature, all sides of it's complex facets. It is truely a soul stiring Book only made better by sterling narriation. The Book expanded my horizons, to parts of the World I have never seen & little heard about. I will relisten again, very soon as it is so full of actions, the turns life throws at us all, that I do not want to miss one morsel. A true 5 star Book ata fair price. ND John

Like heart disease, says psychotherapist Richard O'Connor, depression is fueled by complex and interrelated factors: genetic, biochemical, environmental. In this refreshingly sensible book, O'Connor focuses on an additional factor often overlooked: our own habits.

I very highly recomend this excellent book to anyone who is suffering from depression or, has close friends or family with this illness. This book is so well nariated that it is very easy to digest. It is so easy to listen to and very hard to turn off for a nap. What makes this book so entertaining & enlightening is that the author himself is also a sufferer and he has many years in medical experience working with so many patients having varying degrees of depression that the book is totally believable. You can actually feel the sincerity & compassion in the authors voice as he so tenderly reads. Very well done. I am in debt to this kind person. wagnernd

In gripping, never-before-heard detail, President Bush brings listeners inside the Texas governor's mansion on the night of the hotly contested 2000 election; aboard Air Force One on 9/11, in the hours after America's most devastating attack since Pearl Harbor; at the head of the table in the Situation Room in the moments before launching the war in Iraq; and behind the Oval Office desk for numerous historic and controversial decisions.

I have never voted for the man & admit not having a high opinion of him. But, I never concidered him to be dishonest. I was very interested in his Middle East decisions, I was disapointed. Pres. Bush has never been knowwn as a good public speaker & that shows up in the reading of this book. I have a hard time listening for long periods. A Wilson or a Brick would of at least made this more palatable. My expectations were not high. My expectations were soon lowered. John

Little did I suspect that this cast of ordinary Americans would so captivate my mind and soul! I believe that the narriator's excellent grasp of the plain language used by the amazing characters in this classic book made the listen even more interesting than the reading version. Excellently read with all of the proper idiosicracies of these regular, good American people comprissing the cast. I tip my hat to the author & especially to the production. I hated to see it end. I will remember it always.A must hear for outdoorspersons. John

Armed with M1 rifles, bayonets, and a few hand grenades, young soldiers from different units, operating without command, come together as The Stragglers. Take a journey into the trenches in this fascinating true story of a group of misplaced soldiers fighting courageously as other American troops withdrew from the city of Chinju, South Korea. Charles C. Smith recalls the story of his 17-year-old self, the lone survivor from a battle that took place more than 50 years ago.

I have never written a poor review of any of my most enjoyable 80Gbt"s of Audible.com audio books. This poor production deserves at least some comment. The narriation is very poor with many easily correctable voice repeats. Worse, it is about one minor battle that no one in the Army knows about. The author may have been to Korea but what he writes has no intrinsict value, historicial or otherwise. My complete irritation was worsened by an unnecessary commerial for Rush Limbach as our Country"s most honest & best reporter of trueth. Other right wingers also mentioned, much to my irritation. Not a good example of how to harm the audio book medium. A very sad day was whaen it was released. I doubt anything in it is true. Very sad day when I purchased it, worse when I listened. Depresses me. John
