In the small coastal city of Oran, Algeria, rats begin rising up from the filth, only to die as bloody heaps in the streets. Shortly after, an outbreak of the bubonic plague erupts and envelops the human population. Albert Camus' The Plague is a brilliant and haunting rendering of human perseverance and futility in the face of a relentless terror born of nature.

Caitlin Decter is young, pretty, feisty, a genius at math - and blind. Still, she can surf the net with the best of them, following its complex paths clearly in her mind. But Caitlin's brain long ago co-opted her primary visual cortex to help her navigate online. So when she receives an implant to restore her sight, instead of seeing reality, the landscape of the World Wide Web explodes into her consciousness, spreading out all around her in a riot of colors and shapes.

This is a fun trilogy, even if your not a computer geek, you will like the twist and turns that the book takes you. I am a Christian though and was just a little put off by the authors obvious disdain of Christianity. But other than that, the books were fun to listen to and learn about some of the computer words and the way they work that I was clueless on, and that is a lot. I actually Googled a few things, even though this is a work of fiction, I wanted to see if certain things were real, and they were, so yay, I learned. lol I really liked the narrator's, they all did a really great job.

I picked this Christmas book because the publishers notes said something to the fact that it was a wholesome love story. I am paraphrazing of course, but close enough. I also went under the guide that it was in the Christian section.
Sad to say that this was a far cry from both.

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

The season of gift-giving is here, and this year we've got something special for our members: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Yuletide whodunit "The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle". In this holiday-themed short story, Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick, Dr. Watson, follow the trail of a lost hat and a Christmas goose through the streets of London and into a rapidly expanding mystery.

I have never really read (listened) to a short story, except Stephen King, but this was really kinda cute. I enjoyed the story, especially a Christmas story at Christmas time. I would like to thank Audible for the present.

Harry is out of his depth. Detective Harry Hole is meant to keep out of trouble. A young Norwegian girl taking a gap year in Sydney has been murdered, and Harry has been sent to Australia to assist in any way he can. He's not supposed to get too involved. When the team unearths a string of unsolved murders and disappearances, nothing will stop Harry from finding out the truth. The hunt for a serial killer is on, but the murderer will talk only to Harry. He might just be the next victim.

Charles Atkinson says: "Probably the best of this remarkable series."

This was my first of Mr. Nesbo, and sadly my last. I didn't care for the characters at all, and I'm sorry, but the name Hole, pronounced holy, just sounded strange when the narrator said it. Harry Hole, I know I'm being petty, but, how rude sounding. So for me it just kinda ruined it. I know it's childish, but, just saying.........

Where does Brother Odd rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love Odd Thomas. I wish that Mr. Zoontz would never stop writing about him. He has so many adventures and takes them in stride. Except for the whole "seeing dead people thing" I wish I had Odd's personality. And yes, I do live in the real world and know he is fictional, I just wish I had more of the humorous side of Odd.

What did you like best about this story?

    You'll have to listen.

Which character – as performed by David Aaron Baker – was your favorite?

Odd of course, but all of them. Especially Brother Knuckles. lol

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Always when Odd thinks of Stormy.

This was by far on of the best books I have ever (read) listened to. I actually think if you were to read it and not listen to it, it would not be as good. You wouldn't get the feel. I will be listening to this one again and again.
