Summer 1924: On the eve of a glittering society party, by the lake of a grand English country house, a young poet takes his life. The only witnesses, sisters Hannah and Emmeline Hartford, will never speak to each other again. Winter 1999: Grace Bradley, 98, one-time housemaid of Riverton Manor, is visited by a young director making a film about the poet's suicide. Ghosts awaken and memories, long consigned to the dark reaches of Grace's mind, begin to sneak back through the cracks.

What did you love best about The Shifting Fog?

The story of the past ... a past painstakingly researched and communicated to us in such beautiful words and organization. This is a story of being human and how our choices can lead to unintended results. I hated to have it end. This is my favorite Kate Morton story ... Grace is my favorite character to date...and I have read all Kate's stories. I can't wait till a new one is available.

What did you like best about this story?

The character of Grace. She was so developed and believable as she told this story. You feel as if you know her and hate to see the story end. Also, how Kate Morton builds the story and tells it. She is a magnificent storyteller. Yes, she is detailed and sets each scene so carefully ... it's why you become so involved with her characters and understand them. I love history, and she gives us historical background so well.

What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?

I love the way she reads the story. I like her accents. I could listen to her forever and never get tired of her voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. I just never have the time to do so.

    Any additional comments?

Read this book ... if you liked Kate Morton's other stories, I think you will love this one.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Would you listen to Doctor Sleep again? Why?

Yes! Stephen King is always so great with details and it's easy to miss some of the nuances of the story. It was a great story and I was kept very interested. Didn't want it to end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Doctor Sleep?

    Can't elaborate without spoilers!

Which character – as performed by Will Patton – was your favorite?

Dan. King does a beautiful job of making him real and giving him the dimensions a real person would have.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I never cried. I laughed a couple of times. However, I found myself talking out loud to the characters while I was listening. I was really into the story! I found myself cheering every time there was a "win."

Where does The Forgotten Garden rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of my favorites so far. Kate Morton's stories and Caroline Lee's narration together are absolute magic.

What other book might you compare The Forgotten Garden to and why?

The only comparison I have are other Kate Morton books. She is awesome! I haven't read anything that I would compare it to at this time.

What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?

Everything! I love the way she narrates the story ... you become totally immersed in the story. Her accents are fabulous in my opinion.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

As always, it is the end where all the threads of the story are brought together to weave a beautiful tapestry! It is a story I will continue to think about. The fairy tales were magnificent too. Such a well written story! I can't say enough about this book. I was so sorry to see it end. Every character leaves a mark on you.

Give us more, Kate and Caroline! And thanks for the awesome stories!

Would you listen to All My Sons (Dramatized) again? Why?

Yes. The actors were so great. I knew nothing about this story and I am so glad I didn't. The ending was very surprising and emotional ... I really felt the pain of the characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The mother. Julie Harris NAILED this part. Her voice was perfect and I felt her anguish, anger and indignation all through the reading. She is always sheer perfection in her parts, but this one in particular really shines.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
