I just downloaded this. I jump around a bit from genre to genre, but I alway gravitate to longer selections for the value and engagement. I'm not quite sure where I would put this as far as genre goes, but I was hooked after only a few chapters. The engineering is of good quality and the narrator keeps my attention and has good enunciation and pace. The story- well I will let you decide (I hate spoilers), but I can say this it's hard to put away once you get in to it. There is mild sexual content so be warned, but for anyone well read it is very tame.

I thought the narration was most excellent and truly that is what carried me through. In the end I was left simply wondering what was the point? This novel made utterly no sense. Good prose, the primer was a great concept but so much nonsense got in the way that it made short work to tear away at the good starting ideas that the book had to offer.

Mr. Davidsons almost slurpy, slightly nasal drawn out voice utterly spoils this. Looking for another copy. Please make sure you listen to the preview before purchasing, unlike I did :)

Not sure what's up here. I love Tom Robins and thought that I would grab this, but it is definitely the poorest quality audiobook I have downloaded from audible.com. I cannot believe that there is not a quality control process to keep these terrible cassette tape rips from showing up for sale here. This is not worth downloading from audible find it elsewhere or get it from the library. Sounds terrible on an ipod.

After about two years of a premium membership I can honestly say that this is my most memorable purchase to date. The sights smells and emotions of India permeate through these pages and paint a picture you will not soon forget. Do not let the brief deceptive description or long length of this book dissuade your commitment to getting it and absorbing it as I have done. The characters and language will draw you in and not let you go. You are involved and loving the people of this novel from the moment it starts. The artful prose will make this book a classic.

A very poor series indeed. If you read the first, then you aready know how poorly written it is. This one shows no better.

Scott Brick makes for a great narrator for this Faulkner classic. Well recorded reading. Like most of Faulkner's novels this is a gritty, and hard edged look into the human experience of the plight of the common southerner "after the fall". The plight of Joe Christmas and Lena Grove is unforgettable and well adapted for audible.

This is indeed a fresh voice, but a long drawn one as well. I would call this more of a portrait rather than any sort of engaging read. A well done portrait, but overly detailed and no plot to speak of. If you are looking for a quick read this is not it. There are many characters and it is more about their personalities rather than anything in particular that they do or aspire to do. Don't get me wrong, this is a good story, but keep your expectations in check. It is not a thriller by any means. It becomes very engaging after about diving about a quarter of the way into it.

Well read, the narrator does a great job with watered down content. The audio quality is very good even on my handheld (3). The fundamental problem here is the storyline is a complete hack and glue job of three famous already written fantasy books, even to the point of similar names, charcters, and subplots. I found nothing new here, alot of recycled stereotypical fantasy ingredients patched together. But on the bright side I have known worst ways to kill time. If you have work to do and need something in the background that you can miss five minutes here and there and not lose the plot, this would fit the bill just fine.

This is exactly the first review I've actually bothered to fiddle with. While many of the books I have chosen have been grand this was by far the single most engrossing. Witty and intelligent, adventurous and extraordinary. I found the first hour or two difficult, but in the narrators defense, I had gone from a novel read by George Guidel to this, a very British novel with a very British narrator and I must admit this is most likely the foundation this small problem. I highly recommend this book. It is a beautifully woven mixture of "history" with a large dose of magic and English humor in good healthy portions.
