It's as good as the best and better than many.
Reacher, as always, is my favorite super hero.
Since I have listened to Dick Hill perform this character through 19 books, I just like everything about his reading. I cannot see anyone else as Reacher.
I tried to do this, but it was too long for that. Anyway, I would have been disappointed if I didn't hae it to look forward to listening to again.
Yes, I would like to say that whoever chose Tom Cruise to play Reacher, must not have read the books. Reacher is supper tall, blond and blue eyed and very big. Does this author's description at all resemble Tom Cruise? What a colossal mistake. I hope something prevents Cruise from doing this movie. Only a type such as Dolph Lundgren could possibly be Reacher.
surprising, confusing, great ending
Travis..he appeared more honest than almost everyone else involved with Victoria
She had a unique way of dealing with problems.
When I finally reached the last paragraph, all I could think was "What is this?" I had to listen again to the epilogue and think back on the story until I finally got it. Then I thought it was really a great ending and actually proved the title. Great story and great last line. If you don't read the entire story, you probably won't get the end.
It was nice to revisit a novel that was an actual romance instead of a sex manual . I found nothing missing even though most of the love scenes were implied rather than being explicit. This was an easy read and is just as satisfying as an audio.
Nice easy listening
Webster...he was strong, sensitive and although he could get angry he was quick to forgive.
I thought he did a very good job. I always knew who was speaking.
I actually listened in two sittings.
This was a nice happy read.
The story was boring and predictable but the narration was worse. I found myself listening with one hand constantly adjusting the volume, sometimes it was too loud and other times I could barely make out what was being said. It would have been better if, instead of trying to sound as if they were in protective suits, the narrator just spoke normally.
Half-way through this audio, it began to sound familiar. I checked through my Lee Child audios and found "Running Blind" published in 2000 narrated by Dick Hill. It is the earlier version of "The Visitor." As usual, Jack Reacher proves that he is smarter than any police unit including the FBI. And they are the ones who, for all intents and purposes, kidnaps him, tries to coerce him into helping them solve some murders, then stubbornly refuses to listen to his theories. The way Reacher manages to plot to turn matters around so he can escape the FBI is unique and although far-fetched, it works. It's just great fun to listen as Reacher out-smarts everyone who initially tries to push him around.
