From the publisher of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies comes a new tale of romance, heartbreak, and tentacled mayhem. Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters expands the original text of the beloved Jane Austen novel with all-new scenes of giant lobsters, rampaging octopi, two-headed sea serpents, and other biological monstrosities.

Kat says: "I wish they'd turn this into a movie!"
    "Disappointing"

After the previous Pride and Prejudice and Sea Monsters I was curious to see where this adventure would take the reader. Although Kathryn Kellgren's reading is masterful as always, the material is so bad that nothing can really save it. Not worth the paper, or MB it takes up in the world.

Bill Bryson has been an enormously popular author both for his travel books and for his books on the English language. Now, this beloved comic genius turns his attention to science. Although he doesn't know anything about the subject (at first), he is eager to learn, and takes information that he gets from the world's leading experts and explains it to us in a way that makes it exciting and relevant.

Corby says: "Very informative, fun to listen to"

This was an entertaining narrative of science. Not only did the author give you a history of the creation of the Earth as we now know it, he interspersed it with histories of the principal discoverers. His writing tactics allowed a more personable view of scientific creation than a dry rendering of the facts.

The narrator did an excellent job of bring life to this book. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know a little about the start and progression of life on this planet.

This is a brief introduction to the subjects of big bang, evolution, plate tectonics, etc; so if you feel you know all there is on these type of subjects you may not like this overview. However, even with a scientific background it was fascinating to see the whole picture combined. My favorite parts were the personal histories of the Scientists, without these the book would have been just another text book read.
