  • The Big Bad Wolf

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 13 mins)
    • By James Patterson
    • Narrated By Peter J. Fernandez, Denis O'Hare

Alex Cross' first case since joining the FBI has his new colleagues stymied. Across the country, men and women are being kidnapped in broad daylight and then disappearing completely. These people are not being taken for ransom, Alex realizes. They are being bought and sold. And it looks like a shadowy figure known as the Wolf, a master criminal who has brought a new reign of terror to organized crime, is behind this business in which ordinary men and women are sold as slaves.

    "What a Letdown"

I gave this book two stars, if only for the terrific narration. What started out seeming to be a juicy steak of a novel, totally wimped out in the end. It left me wondering if Patterson overslept when he should have been writing, and just turned in any old ending to his editors on the last day. Too bad the Big Bad Wolf turns out to be nothing but a whining pup. I wish I could recommend this book, but I can't. I felt ripped off by the author.

  • The Good House

    • UNABRIDGED (21 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Tananarive Due
    • Narrated By Robin Miles
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Tananarive Due, author of The Living Blood won the American Book Award and is praised as Stephen King's equal by Publishers Weekly. In The Good House, Due sets a story of ancient powers and modern retribution in a small Pacific Northwest town. When a young woman returns to her grandmother's empty mansion, she is pitted against demonic forces that have poisoned her family for generations.

    Rebecca says: "FABULOUS!"

Firstly, I was totally delighted wiith this narrator. Either she's a tremdous imitator of different voices, or she got a split personality, each personality taking on a different character in the story. Had me totally engrossed from beginning to end. The story itself is so well written that, before the tale had even ended, I came to Audible looking for another book by this author, or something else read by this narrator. Well worth the money, and a steal using a book credit. READ IT!

  • The Vacant Throne: Band of Four, Book 2

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 54 mins)
    • By Ed Greenwood
    • Narrated By Stuart Langston

Aglirta is known as the Kingless Land. Once a prosperous and peaceful river valley, it has fallen into lawlessness, studded with feuding baronies engaged in a constant state of war. But the land is kingless no more, for the Sleeping King of legend, King Kelgrael, has been awakened by the efforts of The Band of Four.

    "terrible narration"

Egad. I'm not a one to complain normally, but this narration was so flat and uninteresting that I had to come and warn other listeners. I was excited about this story, but the monotone voice made listening so difficult that I turned it off and trashed it after a good hour attempt at getting enough into the plot to be able to stand the bad reader. Don't buy this audiobook. It's a terrible waste of money. Instead, read the thing yourself....
