"Lovely"
A lovely story if you just want to listen to LOVE. Nothing more and nothing less. I have enjoyed it after listening to a few very heavy books. This one was Pure Relaxation.
The voice of the Narrator just belongs to story, a great combination.
"Disappointed"
I read in a review that: “if you love the Outlander series and or Charles Dickens, you will LOVE this book”. That did it for me and I spend my credit. Perhaps in comparison with Charles Dickens but the book you can’t compare with the Outlander series!!!!
I stopped when I have listened almost 2 parts. Then I decided to read some more reviews. Mostly excellent reviews, however a few more like what I experienced.
I also read: “Characters that appear and then disappear once they have served their purpose”.
Then I thought why bother to listen to the other 2,5 part.
Narrator did a good job.
"No grip"
I don't know if it's just me, but I couldn't get a good start in this book.
I took this book because I LOVED Possession and the Children's book was a nice LONG book. However wayyyy too long for me. It seems.
It took me ages to get listenend to the first 4 hours. I have started over and over again. I did tried, because I have read all those great reviews.
So I think it must be just me!!!
"Nice, but also a good sleeping pill"
The story is nice. I like traveling through the USA.
However I didn't dare to listen in the car while driving, because in bed after 5 minutes I was fast a sleep. It took me ages to get those few hours of listening ended.
"Not what I had in mind"
The narrator did an excellent job (as always). However I was disappointed about the book itself. I though I had downloaded a nice Susan Elizabeth Phillips book. Great to listen to in bed, when I wasn’t feeling all right. However it wasn’t a story like all the other books of her. I clearly didn’t read all the other review before buying it. Otherwise I could have known it was a different kind of story. Definitely not a story ‘for escapism’ as I have read afterwards on another review.
"Good"
A good book, although I had to get used to the voice and pace of the narrator. She talks a bit too fast for me. The story is good and entertaining. I can recommend it.
"nice"
A lovely audiobook, well written and a very nice reading voice. I have listened to other audiobooks by Elizabeth Phillips and I like them all. However I would have known that this was the first in a kind of series. You can listen to them separately, but I would start with this one.
"Lovely"
A lovely book. My fair lady, but then the other way round. A very relaxing and pleasant listening.
"stopped"
When I downloaded this title I thought it was a nice light book about 7 sisters with magical powers. I have listened until chapter 5 and then I stopped.
The book is all about abuse mentally and physically. I have just read more reviews and discovered that it is the last book of a series. Not worth my credit.
"Disappointing"
I have been trying to get the hang of the story for many many days now. Rewinding many many times. I came to just 3 hours and I quit.
It is totally not like the other Marian Keyes books. Very confusing with all those characters and only telling a short part of each then switching to the next. It is all about people living in the same building and a spirit is telling the story. Perhaps it will be doable when you can listen for hours at a time.
"GREAT/disappointed"
Of course as a BIG fan of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series I found it a GREAT book. It was wonderful to read about people in the 'past and present', how their life's develop.
The end was a bit disappointed and to abrupt.
I hope the next book will be available very very soon!!!!!????? It's not nice to let your readers dangle like that, for a long period.
