Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Defintely would recommend this series and this book.
I felt as if I was one of the protagonist with all the terrifying fears that Kitty and her companions went through.
I am not sure that this is my favorite book in the series as I was scared more than I would care to admit; on the other hand, if a writer can make me feel this much through such a book, I can only bow my head and say thank you for allowing me to be along Kitty and her terrifying adventure and feel like one of Kitty's friend and only wish I could have done something to help. The only thing I could was to listen to the book in one straight session (almost did. It took me 2 days to find the time to listen)

    Which scene was your favorite?

I really like one the last scene when Kitty and Anastasia talk in the hospital; this is a hint of things to come in possible new adventures. A fearful future with new Alliances (probably friends) that can't be denied. Love that Kitty is becoming a strong leader without the arrogance that could be associated with others (if they were in her situation)

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Who's the real monster?

    Any additional comments?

Love the series. Can't wait to get to the next.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Not only is the story slow (as well as the narration), if you like books that are more about gossips and just passing judgement around society (without merrit in the story) and not relevant to the story itself, then I guess it would be a book for you.
The story starts to pick up only in the last quarter of the book and the way it is developed by the writer seem to be written in a haste then without much body (compared to the way she writes about society and gossips within this book)
Her writing is primitive without depth. Her characters are simplistic and not well described.
Too much would have to be done to write a descent crime novel, in my opinion, for the author, so that I might enjoy any of her books. No style, no depth of story and characters. She would be well served to study English literature such as Poe, if she plans on getting any recognition for her books and writing style.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration is trying to add some depth and individuality to the characters with a little success. Nonetheless, the narration is so slow (I assume is to make the novel into a book), that in a way it matches my disappointment that I have with the story itself.

    Any additional comments?

Don't bother with this book or series, you'll want a refund.
If you can't stand the 1st hour, stop right away, don't waste your time. I did it for you already. I listened to the whole book, and it doesn't get much better, even in the last couple hours of the book, where finally, the story picks up a little.

Where does Kushiel's Dart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've read over 250+ books, and it is definitely in the top ⅓rd of my favorite books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Even though Phèdre is the heroine of the story, I also felt a strong connection to the supporting characters such as Anaphaèl (her master), Iacente (her best friend), and Joceline (her companion).

What about Anne Flosnik’s performance did you like?

Love her reading and truly appreciated giving each character their own voice and personality.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The story and thanks to the narrator, I felt as if I were part of the adventure too as a silent friend and felt strong emotions at times, enough that I cried over the loss of some of Phèdre's companions as if I had lost someone dear to me myself. I strongly felt some of the stress and weight that Phèdre's decisions could entail for herself.

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for a new and different epic adventure, you won't be disappointed. The story is beautiful and beautifully read.

What disappointed you about Dimension X?

Sound needs improvement, otherwise waste of money…

What could Ray Bradbury have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Performance is intolerable.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There's a background sound that makes it extremely difficult to hear the narrator.

Would you try another book from James Patterson and/or Robert Guillaume and Chris Noth ?

Yes,(surely, for the author, not sure for the narrators) but i hadn't noticed which type of version this was. Will only go with unabridged version next time.

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson? Why or why not?

Yes, but i hadn't noticed which type of version this was. Will only go with unabridged version next time.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Hard to judge. The edited version was done very poorly, which would impact the narrators' experience.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Kiss the Girls?

I think too many scenes were either omitted or cut short.

    Any additional comments?

    DON'T BUY ABRIDGED VERSION EVER…

For most couples, a quiet dinner for two at Auberge de la Reine Blanche on the Ile Saint Louis would be just the thing to smooth out the complications in a romance. But for gorgeous Mossad operative Delilah and trying-to-retire contract killer John Rain, nothing is ever easy, and when Rain sees a crew of hard-looking men setting up outside the restaurant, he realizes someone has been bringing her work home with her.

What did you like best about this story?

It's a story of hope for a young girl with a grim future that gets turn around just because someone extended a hand, and was willing to trust her, and gave her a chance to change her own future, and discover her purpose and fight for what she believes in, and learn to trust others and be hopeful to be part of a group, which considers itself just like a family. So extend a hand to someone too :)

    Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the story about a young 13 years old girl with some strange magical tattoos and a history that we don't know about. We are in an alternate reality where humans, hawks, werewolves, mages and magic live. Essentially, it's a murder mystery that will help this young heroin understand more about her possible magical powers and herself, Though she had to grow up quickly living on her own and be distrustful of her environment, she will learn that she still has a chance to change her present and future.

I typically do not write book reviews, but I couldn't pass the opportunity this time. After all the adventures that Kitty has gone through, I was curious to see what could happen now. Yes, it does involve some backlash from some of her enemies from a previous book. It was with great joy that the story felt fresh. It has lots of excitment with old friends, and new ones. It is book not miss. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
