This is like a soap opera. You can skip more than one chapter&you won't have missed a thing. What have women for generations work toward for these types of girls. There wasn't a real woman in the entire story.
It's all about her immature, needy, silly "relationship".
It's all about the sex.
It's all about her unending list of insecurities& his.
Back and forth, back and forth just like high school.
3 downloads of too much meaningless sex, silly emotionally outbursts, a girl that has no self awareness at all. In the language of girls....whatever.
The production quality isn't the best on either of these books.
I take responsibility for purchasing these books. But Audible if you want to keep me as a customer you are going to have to figure a rating system so I do not unknowingly purchase these books that are meant for...well, in my opinion no one.
I love a good romance but I do require a story other than 3 downloads of this girl who has no story except her fears about what her boyfriend is doing. If this is a trend in romance I may have to go to non-fiction.
I enjoyed this book. It was about a magical lineage. I found it to be quite interesting. 3 women, their lives, the challenges. It was a really good storyline. The narrator was also very professional. I liked it and it was worth the credit but something I cannot put my finger on was missing. I have no idea what. I listened in one sitting. The beginning captured me.
Good story but not memorable. This book takes on an old legend of the seals. It reminded me of a lot of books from my 20's and that was a while ago. It was good, the author knew how to bring it to a tense climax! Worth the credit, Good narration.
I am not always a series person. Stage Dive is so good. Each story has its similarities but the differences are more interesting. The dialog is smart and sharp. Love this strong, independent women that know how to love. The romance is lovely, the sex is not overdone, the drama is not overdone. This author has the timing down just right. She know how to write a memorable love story and I love that! Great narration.
This is an interesting book. And those far between. It has a story, a mystery, and intrigue. I think I will need to listen again because the ending really threw me for a loop, in a good way. The drinking, smoking, tatting, piercing I think is becoming interesting to me. This writer knows how to write a story and I love that. The dialog is good, and it is real. I didn't feel that boring sense of the writer went down a check list. All these character are interesting. Young, quick to react, I was there once. I really appreciated the timing in this book. Some of you may it frustrating but I found it special. Good narration, but some the voice were not enough different for me to figure it out right away. Overall I believe you will enjoy this story. I am going to look forward to the next installment.
Many novels are depressing, angst ridden. This one is long on angst. I find it too frustrating. With the exception of the language & sex I would label this YA.
Narration; It seems the last 3 books I have purchase have this new way of using two narrators. Before the male voice did the male voice/the female doing female. In my opinion David Baldacci's producers do this the best. I do not like this switch back and forth male voice doing both then female doing both voices. When you are blind you have to assign the voice to the character. This story was not as difficult to separate/figure out. But the other two were confusing for me. I just do not care for this and hope it is not a trend.
I ultimately enjoyed this book but in the beginning I really didn't care for the dialog. I also didn't realize being soul mates (as not in the vampire; shape shifter, or anyother way) in the manner we commonly use it was a paranormal activity. I also didn't think the book was served by using the two narrators, both of them are wonderful but I think the book would have been better served with one voice. I have listened to Jeffrey Kafer many times and really love his narration. The story became better as it moved along.
This book is probably not for you if you like your books fast and erotic. I loved it. It is a long time mystery, with a little magic and the right characters to draw you in. I enjoyed the timing but it is not a flash. I am counting this as my summer beach read.
D.Baldacci has made me feel many emotions, but he has never made me cry before. With all the cruelty, violence, twists, and turns. To find the human spirit still alive is heartwarming. There is so much in this book and it is all rich with story. I believe this one maybe my favorite but it is definitely two thumbs up for the writing. Love these narrators. The productions is so good. I believe the best in the business.
I accidentally found this book. I loved Easy, and I was tentative about buying this book from Landon Lucas's POV. I have to say the narrator made this book work for me. I think the wrong narrator would have ruined the feel of this tender love story. At least this time I knew what happened but there were many surprises. The mark of a really good author that can bring another story to this couple. Easy and now Breakable will join my favorite romances. Worth the credit and thank you for the pleasure of listening to this well written, well narrated story.
Great characters, the storyline was not something I could believe but I really enjoyed the book. It is just enough angst, problems, make up, it was a fun book.
