"Wow, just wow."
Easily top 10' maybe top five.
The ending, when things start clicking and you suddenly want more and realize it's over! There are many other memorable moments also. It's a great book.
Just in Bitter Seeds. He is amazing! I can't believe the amount of accents he can flawlessly pull off. He just flows from one to another with ease, you really don't think about it.
Idk, I suck at this.
I can't wait for the next book! But, I guess I will.
"Gets better each book"
The story and characters are progressing at a pace that's easy to follow. I appreciate that he slowly learns things. Unlike a movie or book where they suddenly become an expert. Only thing, narrators American accent needs a LOT of work. It was almost comical! I've heard British people complain about bad accents done by Americans, but this is the first time I've ever seen it go the other way! I enjoyed his other character enough that I can overlook it though. I really like the narrator. I've overlooked some truly horrible English and Irish accents in other books that I love.
"Surprisingly good"
I really like the premise and world the authors created here. I actually went on to buy the next two books immediately. Glad I did too, they seem to get better and better. One thing about this book though, and it minor, but really bugged me. The narrator sounds congested. He does lots of smacking and sighing and swallowing at weird times. It started really annoying me. BUT it's not there at all in the other two books. I seriously think he was congested. Lol. Once I got over that, I really enjoyed his voice and accents.
"Please add more"
I have read the previous 3 books on my ereader and really enjoyed them. I'm so glad to see these on audible... But keep adding please! I see there's another book in the series that isn't here, plus another coming in December '13.
I recommend starting at the beginning of this series with mark of the Demon to get the full perspective. The demons aren't your typical demons, but rather being from another place that can be summoned into this world. They are ruled by Demon Lords that may also be summoned.
Start at the beginning... And Audible, please add the next title!
"Another awesome addition"
This series is one of my top 10 favorites, it never disappoints. I'm glad we're back home and dealing with pack business, Adam and even the vampires. Great listen.
"Seanan McGuire is awesome"
I absolutely love the October Daye series and rank her books as auto buys. This one was great also. Not as much depth as the faerie novels, but good fun. Looking forward to listening to the next one.
"Meh"
This book seemed too light and trite. It has all the elements of a great book, but it never grabbed me. The main character was too slow... She should have been more curious about herself and background by this point in her life. The narrator made her sound like a child, and I just couldn't totally get her. Then suddenly there's a bunch of sex and pining... There's so many good and well written books in this genre, this just seems like a waste of time. it was one of those books that i had to rewind over andover because it wouldnt hold my attention, after 3 or 4 times i just gave up. But noticed a lot of people really liked it... I think it lacked depth and character. Sorry. :(
"5 down"
I have consumed these books one after another in a shirt time. I have enjoyed them so much. This one is no different. Nice little twist at the end... Can't wait to jump into the next one. But I'm taking a little break. I sometimes burn myself out on a series if I listen to too much. But I'm really looking forward to 6. This series has blown me away so far. It's really fantastic.
"It needed more Beast"
It was good. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but... I was so entirely swept up in the last book, and this one didn't pull me in as hard. It felt much more like character and feeling development than the action packed wow moments the last book had. As if the plot with the witches and spider vamps was an afterthought. None of this is bad, just an observation. We do learn a lot about different people like Sol, Rick, and the relationship with the Younger brothers and Jane. Leo and his manipulation, and Bruisers new smell. I think it needed more beast. Beast is so cunning and smart, but she was mostly asleep or just aiding in night vision... I missed her.
Overall it is good, worth a credit, and I think it lead to further interesting things.
"I just couldn't make it through"
I enjoyed the first book a lot. I started out enjoying this book, but after a while I felt like it was just moving soooo slooooow. It was all descriptions of food, drinks and clothes. Ok, ok, let's get on with the plot already. Maybe if I was reading it and could scan over the long descriptions it would be easier. But as it is, I would lose interest and then end up losing actual plot details. I don't mind long epic books. I do mind books that are drawn out so that you can describe food and long walks, or how the main characters brother is spoiled and his girlfriends aunt has a nice resteraunt. I listened to about half of it and then put it away.
"Creative ending to a fun series"
This was a great and fun way to revisit the whole series before saying goodbye. As for the reviewers who are mad about the ending... That's silly, theres no mystery, its plain. Were you paying attention at all throughout the books?
