I don't want to box it in too much by saying its like Lost... Because we all know Lost got sidetracked, and would sometimes forget to come back around, or the side tracks where more interesting than the main story... But none of those things happen here... This is more like what we thought Lost should have been, or was going to be.
The book was a little sluggish at first. I even thought I knew where it was headed with the mutant roaches and other quirky findings about the building. But I was waaaaay off. I became so involved in the book I was like the main character who was getting behind at work, I couldn't get my things done, because I was focused on it. It's been a long time since I've been so involved in a book. And this is after reading the latest installment of Dresden... I can barely remember that now because all I can think about is this book. Even though I'm on to my next book, this one is still swimming through my thoughts. This is a solid book. Well written, there was only one part that I saw coming and it wasn't that big of a deal... The rest was pretty much good old suspenseful exciting science fiction as it should be. Unless I missed something, I'm still curious as to what the green mutant roaches are about? I don't think that was answered...
Good book. What you want and expect from OSC. Now lets have the next book!!
