This book was enthralling, riveting and had me totally absorbed.
The detail was excellent, I learned a lot. I felt very involved with the family and had lots of discussions with family and friends regarding the story. I walked many kilometres walking and walking and listening and listening!!!
Loved it all.
I was devastated when it finished, but delighted to find the sequel!!!
I loved this book and the following book War and Remembrance (i mixed up the titles in my review on War and Remembrance)I loved the historical side of the books and became very involved with the characters. I lived and breathed nothing else for weeks as i listened to them both.
Pug!! Understated, earthy, old fashioned and loveable.
Pug .... I loved his voice
Thanks for a great many hours of enjoyment, long to be remembered!
This book is fantastic. I loved the fact that the author was the narrator and i thought he read it beautifully with colourful insightful language and emotion. I have become so interested in Teresita it has inspired me to do my own research. I give this book full marks and would thoroughly recommend!!!! Thanks
Loved the story, loved the accents. I couldn't stop listening to it. I enjoyed the weaving of the story between Australian and New Zealand and in particular the history of the Gallipoli invasion. A great read/listen!!
I enjoyed the novel. I found the Australian and New Zealand accents and pronounciation disappointing. In particular the prononciation of the maori word pakeha was totally incorrect.
The french and italian and irish accents on the other hand were very good.
