The world's two deadliest spies in the ultimate showdown. At a small-town carnival two men, each mysteriously summoned by telegram, witness a bizarre killing. The telegrams are signed Jason Bourne. Only they know Bourne's true identity and understand the telegram is really a message from Bourne's mortal enemy, Carlos, known also as the Jackal, the world's deadliest and most elusive terrorist. And furthermore, they know that the Jackal wants: a final confrontation with Bourne.

"The best and most memorable of the trilogy"
    Overall

Ludlum and Scott Brick capture the perfect balance of plot, cast, pace, narration, and captivity. You tend to really get to know each of the characters and develop a fond familiarity with good characters and a mixture of hate and respect for the evil characters. Although I recommend listening to the other books first, this book does a good job of filling you in on the past events from the previous books. Great action throughout the book in many different areas of the world.

  • The Dark Tower: The Dark Tower VII

All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

Excellent ending story to some really memorable characters but (no spoilers) the ending just made me feel weird. I know that is very vague but I will not spoil anything. It is a good ending but the emotional investment I had with Roland made the ending just odd. King emphasizes that is about the journey and not the destination.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

Okay first of all I am an enormous Dresden fan and have listened to books 1-12 and absolutely loved them all. So naturally when I saw that James Marsters was not narrating Ghost Story, of course I was like what the hell. To all true Dresden fans out there I can understand your hesitation but I assure you it "feels" the same. Yes James Marsters can never be replaced as a Harry Dresden and I can only hope they bring him back for a next addition of the series, but you can not hate a book simply because a change in narrator. Ghost Story is as fantastic as all its predecessors in every sense of storytelling. Glover really does do an excellent job here capturing the world that Jim Butcher created. In my humble opinion, if Glover started off the series instead of Marsters then it really would be a tough situation on determining who is actually a better Harry. The story is an absolute must if you're a fan of the series.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Thousands of autonomous computer programs, or daemons, make our networked world possible, running constantly in the background of our lives, trafficking e-mail, transferring money, and monitoring power grids. For the most part, daemons are benign, but the same can't always be said for the people who design them.

"A great mature book aimed for videogamers"
    Overall

Although some knowledge about videogames will help understand the story details, it is not a prerequisite (anybody can understand what is going on regardless of technical know how). First of all I just want to say this is one of the best books i have listened to and I have listened to about 20 books from audible so far. I want to address some of the other reviews about their completely exxagerated complaints of the book. The profanity is not as rampant as some have suggested. Some reviewers made it seem like profanity made the entire book. NOT THE CASE. Some characters will cuss but not mindlessly, they cussed simply to express emotion. If a sprinkle of profanity drives you to dislike a book then maybe you should stick to textbooks or religous books. IF YOUR INTO SUPERB NARRATION, MEMORABLE CHARACTERS, EXCELLENT STORY AND DO NOT MIND THE ENDING LEADING YOU TO AN AWESOME NEXT BOOK THEN THIS BOOK IS MANDATORY.

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

A call from a distraught wife, and another from Lt Murphy of the Chicago PD Special Investigation Unit makes Harry believe things are looking up, but they are about to get worse, much worse. Someone is harnessing immense supernatural forces to commit a series of grisly murders. Someone has violated the first law of magic: Thou Shalt Not Kill. Tracking that someone takes Harry into the dangerous underbelly of Chicago, from mobsters.

Its generally about a modern day wizard trying to make an honest living in the city wiht his particular talents. I rooted for the main character the entire book because as opposed to steretypical wizards like merlin or gandalf hes human and lives just like us with imperfections and hopes. Good mature strory peppered with some comic relief. Im anxious the for my next credits so I can continue onto the other books. They also made this into a TV series but of course books will always be better than movies simply because one's imagination is not bound by technology.

For years, Mitch Rapp's bold actions have saved the lives of countless Americans. His battles for peace and freedom have made him a hero to many, and an enemy to countless more. In the tangled, duplicitous world of espionage, there are those, even among America's allies, who want to see Mitch Rapp eliminated. They have decided the time has come.

    "Baddassery"
    Overall

Mitch Rapp is the damaged baddass that you cant help but to respect. Well done narration adds life to the characters and the pace offered was just right (fluid with a handful of tense moments). If I had to critique a negativity it would be that Rapp's enemies maybe a little "too" foolish but of course that moment of victory is still so sweet.

This time the stakes are higher than ever. For someone else has taken on the Bourne identity, a ruthless killer who must be stopped or the world will pay a devastating price. To succeed, the real Jason Bourne must maneuver through the dangerous labyrinth of international espionage, an exotic world filled with CIA plots, turncoat agents, and ever-shifting alliances, all the while hoping to find the truth behind his haunted memories and the answers to his own fragmented past.

Bill Kloss says: "Wish I could give it 10 Stars!!!"
"Nothing like the movie..in a good way"
    Overall

First of all, except for the title and names, this is not at all related to the movie. In this book Bourne is a schizo, emphasis on his two personalities much more represented. A duality of man type of concept. The book starts with a bang then has a slow intro to the stories being told which is kinda of boring but then the pace is picked up strong. A little on the predictable side but action scenes are not bad. A more accurate grade I can give the book is 2 stars for beginning chapters then 4 stars for the rest of the book. Scott Brick is top notch as always

Amazing chain of events now revealed..kind of..throughout the narration the CIA cut out much of the detail to the public so the narrator simply says "redaction follows" before something that is blocked. Other than that though the actual story revealed is pretty dam badass. Hard working individuals determined to seek and destroy any threat to all Americans. Glory and sacrifice.
