While scuba diving in Tanzania, Sam and Remi Fargo come upon a relic belonging to a long-lost Confederate ship. An anomaly about the relic sets them off chasing a mystery-but unknown to them, a much more powerful force is engaged in the same chase. Mexico's ruling party, the ultranationalist Mexica Tenochca, is intent on finding that artifact as well, because it contains a secret that could destroy the party utterly.

What could Clive Cussler have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Remi was a stronger character in the first book. I've read the other reviews, and I agree. It's not that good, but the 3rd book has very good reviews, so I decided to slog my way through to get to the 3rd book.

Have you listened to any of Eileen Stevens’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and she is a very good narrator.

    Any additional comments?

    :: Spoiler:: a bit

Gilly is EXTREMELY annoying in this book. I don't see how MJ didn't just stuff him onto a plane back home. I got so sick of his histrionics.

Novelist Anne George injects murder, mayhem, and laughs into her popular mysteries. Nominated for an Agatha Award, this hilarious tale of two “60 something” sisters reveals the deadly consequences of a hasty real estate purchase. Retired Alabama school teacher Patricia Anne thinks her older sister, flamboyant Mary Alice, has lost her cotton-pickin’ mind. On a whim, Mary Alice bought the Skoot ’n’ Boot, the local country western night spot where she and her boyfriend hang out. Mary Alice insists it will be easy to run the club - until the previous owner is found executed.

What didn’t you like about Ruth Ann Phimister’s performance?

Sort of. She did the voices well, but the mouth noises got really annoying. I wanted to her a drink of water.

Treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo are exploring the Great Pocomoke Swamp in Delaware when they are shocked to discover a World War II German U-boat. Inside, they find a bottle taken from Napoleon's "lost cellar." Fascinated, the Fargos set out to find the rest of the collection. But another connoisseur of sorts has been looking for the bottle they've just found.

I enjoyed the relationship between the husband and wife. They acted as partners, and didn't argue when one or the other had more knowledge. Example: She's a crack shot, and Sam has no problem handing the gun over. The story is predictable, but still a fun little adventure.

What would have made Moon Dance better?

Less whining by the heroine, a better narration.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dina Pearlman’s performances?

    Maybe.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. A desire to slap the woman, and anger.

    Any additional comments?

It's a depressing book. I couldn't even finish it I got so fed up with main character.

Where does Gunmetal Magic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is an excellent addition to this series.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the strong women in these books, and the men that respect that strength with being wimps themselves. The characters aren't perfect, and it doesn't always go their way, but they learn, grow, and keep their sense of humor.

Have you listened to any of Renée Raudman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Renee Raudman is EXCELLENT. She changes between male/female/teen and keeps good continuity with how the characters are presented.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire Raphael/Andrea relationship when she finally made Raphael understand her point of view, and how he had hurt her.

    Any additional comments?

I love this entire series! The whole cast of characters is fun, witty, intelligent, and just blood thirsty enough for me. Check out there website too, they have some "tweets" between Kate, Curan, Jim, and others that are hysterically funny.

Mandy is content with her job as a librarian, her longtime boyfriend, Martin, and the lovely home they share. So what if their sex life is vanilla? She's not the wild type anyway. But when she wakes up one morning—unsatisfied—from an erotic dream starring her favorite movie star, Mandy starts to crave sexual adventure in real life.

Spoiler warning.... I was enjoying the book until one of the men she trusted date raped her. Her response was completely unbelievable, and even after the guy was stopped and tossed out- she has sex with him again!

Exploring her options and sexuality is one thing, but that was too much. I finished the book to see if she would confront it, but no. She was a doormat.

Ended up regretting the purchase. Really didn't like this book.

It really can be an endless summer — if you’re immortal. Though a vampire would be ill-advised to take a cruise to Bermuda, the possibilities for getting away from it all — and maybe snacking on some unsuspecting tourist — are many.

I had hoped for fun or funny stories - you know, stories like people like to tell about their VACATIONS!?! Most of these read more like being forced to sit and look at slides of someones boring or down right depressing vacation.

It has 2 or 3 redeeming short stories, but the rest are pure crap.
