"No Thorny Bird"
Colleen McCullough is one of my favorite authors. How I wish this site had more of her books UNABRIDGED. This recording is excellent. This one is for the classics! It is well done, and sooooo enjoyable.
"Yeah, SAVANNAH!"
I am from Savannah. I love what Mary Kay Andrews does with my city. She is so humerous...all of her books are that way. It's a great "listen"...give it a try!
"Wonderful Series...the Earth's Children books!"
To begin with...I am a Jean Auel fan. I have read AND listened to all 6 of the books. They are well written and really give you something to think about. Her characters are as normal and flawed as real people. They dither and misinterpret other folks...just like we do today. Sandra Burr is a very good reader, changing her voice to indicate characters and situations. All Six Books are a good adventure in the world 10,000-20,000 years ago.
"Great Classic!"
I have always enjoyed Treasure Island...read it several times as a kid. But Alfred Molina is a fantastic reader, and I have already listened to it once and am listening to it again. He really puts the "swashbuckling" in the pirates!
