Anti-Terrorist Task Force agent John Corey and his wife, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, have been posted overseas to Sana'a, Yemen - one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. While there, they will be working with a small team to track down one of the masterminds behind the USS Cole bombing: a high-ranking Al Qaeda operative known as The Panther. Ruthless and elusive, he's wanted for multiple terrorist acts and murders - and the U.S. government is determined to bring him down, no matter the cost.

I can't even begin to state how much I enjoyed The Panther. I so enjoy Mr. DeMille's style and subject of writing. Although I know it is fiction, I still feel that a lot of it is based in fact. I enjoyed the continuing story of John Corey, the ending in this one for me was a little anti-climatic, but it ended as it should.
I cheered on the "heros" and booed the "villians", yet wondered how this could be when both represent our country!
Scott Brick is a marvelously talented narrator and I am pleased he was still the narrator for the John Corey series.
This is a great read but I would suggest one reads the prior John Corey novels first (especially The Lion).

This particular story was a good idea but so very poorly executed. Repetitive phrases, way too much detail on unimportant items. Sexual harassment written as if it were flirting dialogue.
I have enjoyed Tami Hoag books before, but now I'm not sure if I will even attempt another Hoag book.

John Sandford's acclaimed Prey novels featuring the brilliant Lucas Davenport have plunged millions of readers into the darkest recesses of the criminal mind. Now Lucas has met his match. His newest nemesis is more intelligent, more deadly, than any he has tracked before: a kidnapper, a violator, and a cruel, wanton killer who knows more about mind games than Lucas himself.

I have read the majority of the Prey series, although not necessarily in order. This is one of his earlier stories. It is, by far, one of my favorites.
I couldn't stop reading it as I was on the edge of my seat. At times, I was tense with the anticipation of what would happen next.
The Prey series is one of the best in this genre and I would not only highly recommend MIND PREY, but the entire Davenport series.

The clock ticks, and the second one can still be saved. But the police never make it in time. The second one dies. For years, the killer has plagued the city with the same pattern, but the police never pick up on it quickly enough.

Judas Coyne is a collector of the macabre. But nothing he possesses is as unlikely or as dreadful as his latest discovery, a thing so terrible-strange, Jude can't help but reach for his wallet. For a thousand dollars, Jude will become the proud owner of a dead man's suit, said to be haunted by a restless spirit. But what UPS delivers to his door in a black heart-shaped box is no imaginary or metaphorical ghost. It's the real thing.

This is the first Joe Hill book I have read. I also have not read a good horror story for years. I'm pleased this is the first I've read in years as it had all the components I love in the horror genre.

Aging, self-absorbed rock star Judas Coyne has a thing for the macabre and has a horrible collection. His background of abuse and this collection has caused him difficulty in hs relationships, yet he basically keeps them due to his reputation but when his assistant tells him about a ghost for sale on an online auction site, he immediately puts in a bid and purchases it. This is the beginning of a series of events, not even Judas could imagine.

The story not only outlines the horror but also brings some humanity to Judas. I started out not fond of Judas Coyne and ended up liking the character.

Stephen Lang did an excellent job of narration and bought a good deal to the dialogue.

However, I was less than pleased with the audiobook production. Adding music to an audiobook is not only not necessary, but also is extremely irritating to me.

It would have been much better without the multiple musical interludes which explains my rating on performance.

This is the 3rd book by Gillian Flynn that I have read. I started with the most recent and worked backwards but it made no difference.
Ms Flynn's writing style is excellent and Sharp Objects is no exception.

Ms. Flynn is tuned into the emotions and feelings of her subjects and makes them come alive on the pages. It is as if I "knew" the protaganist, Camille, or I know someone like her.
I personally could relate to the small Midwestern town, the violence, the closeness.

Once again, I thought I had the story and the ending figured out and with a quick twist, it was completely different.

Ann Marie Lee did a great job with the narration.

Not only would I recommend Sharp Objects, but also any other book penned by Gillian Flynn.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

This wasn't exactly what I was expecting and was pleasantly surprised. Ms. Flynn's writing style is unusual and I really like it. Alternating between the past and the present offers the readers a "back story" which isn't merely narrating what happened. The way the past and the present flow together is remarkable.
The narration was excellent and having multiple narrators added to the story.
Once you decided "whodunit", the story twists and turns so many times, the ending is a huge surprise.
    Highly recommend!

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Gone Girl is an extremely disturbing story about a dysfunctional relationship between a sociopath and narcissist. It is very well written and the narration was performed perfectly. The subject is topical due to all the crime shows, both reality and drama, and how public reaction plays a role in today's 24 hour news cycle.
This is one book that I was unable to stop listening as I was enthralled with the characters. Although it didn't end the way I expected, the ending was the only way to end.
Excellent storyline. Excellent narration. Excellent choice.

What a truly delightful mystery! Amelia Peabody is a most entertaining protagonist. This is one of the most enjoyable books I have read for some time! I'm looking forward to reading the entire series.

Barbara Rosenblat, again outdoes herself with this wonderful narration! She made the story even better, if that was possible!
