There's no police training stronger than a cop's instinct. Faith Mitchell's mother isn't answering her phone. Her front door is open. There's a bloodstain above the knob. Her infant daughter is hidden in a shed behind the house. All that the Georgia Bureau of Investigations taught Faith Mitchell goes out the window when she charges into her mother's house, gun drawn. She sees a man dead in the laundry room. She sees a hostage situation in the bedroom. What she doesn't see is her mother.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I was just sick when Jeffery was killed off the story line and have been skeptical since, but Karin Slaughter has done a great job building the relationships and explaining the loyalty between the characters. There are so many tangents in this story but it is very easy to follow and the build up of the relationship between Sara & Will was heartwarming. I couldn't stop listening, and sad when the book ended, I didn't want to let go. I can't wait for the next book....I wish it was out yesterday! Great read / listen. Enjoy

Wow, what an intricate storyline, from the beginning you honestly can't figure out how it "Could have a Happy Ending" It has twists, & and incredible surprises. I made my husband crazy because I couldn't put the book down long enough to watch a movie. It's a long book which makes it even better, unless you're my husband. Great story! Start from the beginning of the series, it makes it better to have the full back ground.

I rated the 1st a 5, the second a 4 other than performance (the performances have been incredible) after I got into the second book I couldn't stop listening so 41/2 would have been a better rating, but this one was incredible. I'm just about to order book number 4. Can't WAIT! Don't tell my husband. ;-)

Jaclyn Wilde is a wedding planner who loves her job—usually. But helping Carrie Edwards with her Big Day has been an unrelenting nightmare. Carrie is a bridezilla of mythic nastiness, a diva whose tantrums are just about as crazy as her demands. But the unpleasant task at hand turns seriously criminal when Carrie is brutally murdered and everyone involved with the ceremony is accusing one another of doing the deed.

I use to be an Event Planner so I wasn't sure if I should get this book wondering if the details of the business would be so off I couldn't relate. But Ms Howard was dead on and I could so relate. The book is funny, a good story and I don't know what every other reviewer is complaining about but I really liked the narrator. I thought she was perfect.
