I've been listening to In Bed with Susie Bright for two years now and can honestly say that she is a god(dess) send. Funny, articulate, provocative, challenging, grounded, pragmatic - Susie has, once again, helped me find my sexual centre. Keep on rockin', Susie!

Six shots. Five dead. One heartland city thrown into a state of terror. But within hours the cops have it solved: a slam-dunk case. Except for one thing. The accused man says: "You got the wrong guy". Then he says: "Get Reacher for me". And sure enough, from the world he lives in - no phone, no address, no commitments - ex-military investigator Jack Reacher is coming. In Lee Child's astonishing thriller, Reacher's arrival will change everything - about a case that isn't what it seems, about lives tangled in baffling ways, about a killer who missed one shot - and by doing so gives Jack Reacher one shot at the truth.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Depends on the friend. If they are interested in a different take on action/adventure, then yes.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

To an extent. It took some unexpected twists and turns which I enjoyed.

Acclaimed biographer Susan Ronald delivers a stunning account of Elizabeth I that focuses on her role in the Wars of Religion - the battle between Protestantism and Catholicism that tore Europe apart in the sixteenth century. Elizabeth’s 1558 coronation procession was met with an extravagant outpouring of love. Only 25 years old, the young queen saw herself as the nation’s Protestant savior, aiming to provide new hope, prosperity, and independence from the foreign influence that had plagued her sister Mary’s reign. Given the scars of the Reformation, Elizabeth would need all of the powers of diplomacy and tact she could summon.

Would you try another book from Susan Ronald and/or Wanda McCaddon?

    Perhaps.

    Any additional comments?

The detail is fantastic, incredibly well-researched. Unfortunately, that doesn't always lend well to an audio interpretation. I find myself re-listening to pick up details that I missed so I can follow and too much of this makes for very fragmented reading.

New York Times best-selling author Alison Weir is one of the most popular chroniclers of British and European royal history. In this fascinating book she sheds light on the scheming, backstabbing and brutality that plagued England after Henry VIII’s death. Filled with remarkable and sometimes shocking details, The Children of Henry VIII is an arresting narrative that brings the past to life and infuses it with all the flair of a riveting novel.

Would you try another book from Alison Weir and/or Simon Prebble?

Actually, I purchased this because I am a fan of Alison Weir. All the previous books were in a female voice and I found the male voice odd for this work, for some reason. There was nothing "wrong", per se, but it wasn't what I expected.

I thought the inclusion of Jane Grey odd, given the title.

Best-selling author Alison Weir turns her masterly storytelling skills to the early life of young Elizabeth Tudor, who would grow up to become England's most intriguing and powerful queen. Sweeping in scope, The Lady Elizabeth is a fascinating portrayal of a woman far ahead of her time - whose dangerous and dramatic path to the throne shapes her future greatness.

... for a Rosalyn Landor / Alison Weir match-up again. Landor does a great job with the voices and I hope that Audible is working on the next installment so we can hear the continuation in the same style. Please?
